I tick and cross posts as too my agreeing and disagreeing which is what it was put in for, I don't know what option fits that discription.

The ticks and crosses are supposed to show whether you 'agree' or 'disagree', which makes it odd when someone asks a question or states a fact and it gets activity. You can only really agree or disagree with an opinion.

I'd love to expand on my vote. But I might get a cross. Oh no.

Go on then, I'll risk it !!

I use the ticks and crosses occasionally. If I strongly agree with a post I tick it.
If I strongly disagree I cross it.

I do tend to find it's the same people that get crosses or ticks. Probably as their views are mostly different to mine or vica verca. But several times I have seen the name of the OP, instinctively gone to the cross, only to find I do agree and therefore tick it.

I certainly don't take them personally and feel some folk are a little sensitive about likes or dislikes from someone they don't (and are never likely to) even know.

Bound to get a load now.

To show disagreement with an opinion, just as a tick shows agreement.

Some mistakenly think they show like or dislike, which they don't and i think it's the reason some get upset and take it personally.

I did for a while Ronnie because it was getting me down a bit, as I suffer with depression,

Then I felt good again so I switched it back on again,

Having 10 pillocks give me a cross for asking this question I have switched it off again,

So the happy cross brigade can have a field day with this post now,

I am not bothered I can not see it.

I agree with Civvy and Ginny. But there wasn't an option that matches that.

I do tick on their merits but I do X if it is winding people up 😛

I hold`no grudges, I simply tick and cross when I think appropriate.

I go out of my way to X the people who constantly moan about getting crosses, other than that I ignore the whole function!

Sick of hearing people moan about it. It makes no difference. Some people are too sensitive about it.

I generally only tick likes if I really like the post but very rarely use the X

I hardly ever tick any boxes. If I do and posters don't know i've ticked them I don't really see the point

Two sides to every coin, I tick comments if I agree with them or it is a good post with good points even if I don't agree with some of the content. I rarely cross a post, I'd rather counter debate and sometimes the points put across have changed my mind about certain posts or re-affirmed my first thoughts.

I'd rather see the crosses used against trolls so it is easier for moderators to get rid of them.

Seems there are more views than options allowed in the poll, Pete.

I'm in the "I do NOT use the system but wish it was not there." category!

The reason I wish it wasn't there is because (IMO) it KILLS the very idea of a forum.
I've just read the Pearson thread, and instead of just ticking a nice post by TownSNAFU5 I replied to express
my admiration for the way he'd expressed his view and that I agreed with it.

Ticking would only make sense if it was an 'Agree/Disagree' rather than a 'Like/I hate your f***ing guts' indicator.
Grimsby remains a fairly confrontational kind of place still....don't it?

Another good reason for scrapping it is to obviate threads like this and leave the forum for football discussion.

Where's the option for 'I immediately Red Cross anybody who seems like they care about red crosses'?

Never works for me-I always tick my own post but still get a load of x's

I hardly ever use the tick and crosses unless someone mentions it and people are ticking and crossing alot in the post for a bit of banter.
