Loving what I'm hearing about the alleged appointment of RS's number 2. Let's just say he will add some razor sharp attacking skills, while making the club great savings at the same time.  :X

So there's some guy - capable of instilling razor sharp attacking skills in a football team - who's coming to Grimsby as assistant manager.
We're a bigger club than I realised....

His assistant at Coventry was Kevin Nugent.

Ohhhh.. a cryptic clue.........its like 3-2-1...lets look...

Number 2 - could be an assistant to a main man or potentially referring to the bodily functions performed on the toilet...
Razor sharp - Razor & football equal Razor Ruddock but as he is now more often associated with stinking programmes on Channel 5 than football maybe thats a clue...Channel No.5...
Put stinking,  Channel No 5 and toilet together and you get Chanel No.5 Eau De Toillette .....famously French....
Great savings - indicates a goalkeeper perhaps making great saves, or potentially financial savings, someone to bank on perhaps, Gordon Banks...maybe...best known as being the England keeper in 1966 World Cup side.......taught football at school by a Mr Thomas....
Attacking skills....clearly an attack minded skilful player is being referred to
at the same time....former player previously here with Slade..

French..Thomas..skilfull...previously associated with Slade....

Thats right...............

Maybe Collins will do the job, to get his foot in the coaching door like Doig

A lot less convoluted than the clues on 3-2-1.

Josh Gowling did his coaching qualifications before he left Kiddy, personally I would like to see Dis retained in some capacity as well.

The warm up will be interesting on Friday as there is no "Head of Recruitment" to lay out the cones.

Reminds me of our  'Wilkinson is Razor Sharp!' banner back in the eighties. Gonna have to resurrect it from the mothballs ;)

You might have to explain to the younger generation what 3-2-1 was.

So it might be dusty bin, not sure mighty mariner will be to pleased, to have a rival.

Doesn't Billy Sharp play for The Blades.

Seriously though it would be great to see Wilko back at BP.

I'd be alot more on board with slades appointment if wilko is no2, great CV and players will always respect a premier league winner

We have been crying out for a coach who can sort out the attack for years.......... I hope it's Paul too, both him and Slade know what GTFC is about if nothing else,

Apart from THAT goal, one of my fave memories was him doing his nut at Brighton when he was last here. We wine 2:1 at the running track, but can't remember why he kicked off.

My wife just said to me I remember Paul coming on for his 1st game and scoring,

He was all arms and legs, ;D

He turned out to be a top player and even Brian Clough thought he was a good enough player to sign him.

Pouton's free kick was disallowed. He got sent off. His daughter was sitting behind me on the phone to her Mum. She was in tears that he was shown a red card.

Was in the running before Bignot, timing was not right.
Lives just outside Doncaster, so not far to travel either.

Happy to Wilko back at BP, hopefully he can bring on the likes of Asante, Yussuf, Jones, Osbourne  and Tom

Everton bought Wilko after he scored against them.  They won the League that season.  He would not have played enough games for a winners medal, but technically he was a "Championship winner".

This was before the top division was called the Premier League.

He made 32 appearances and scored 12 for them that season. Bit harsh if that didn't get him a medal.
