No need for MB to do team talk at Crewe. David Artell just did his job for him (BBC):

He also argues his side outplayed Cheltenham, only to draw 0-0 and that they can do the same this weekend against Grimsby.

"We've got better players than Grimsby," he added. "We had better players than Cheltenham. Over the next few weeks, we've now got easier games and we've got to take advantage.

They had better players at BP but maybe not so much now. A tad arrogant to say the least and sounds like a manager under pressure.

I remember that clown at Woking who said we where "there worst Grimsby Town team he had ever seen" before the game, which may have been statistically true as we where non league............ though being that bad did not stop us beating his side on 3 consecutive away days down there.

As his team sit 89th in the pyramid I think very soon he will have plenty of opportunity to get the missing numbers from his little book!

I listened to a after match chat with Artell after Crewe played either Cambridge or Colchester,

AND

He came across as a bit thick so its no wonder they have lost more than they have won under his management

Well Crewe's the right town for that.

And if theyve got better player's he might want to have a look in the mirror at where the weak link lies

The person that played the role of Spencer in Pheonix Nights is the very wonderful comedian and artist Daniel Kitson - one of the finest contemporary stand ups. Interestingly, he completely disassociates himself from that work in Pheonix Nights, denounces it and Peter Kaye and says he is sorry he ever took the role.

As far as Artell's comments are concerned - I like this kind of bluster. It just adds to the spice of the game. If I was a Town player I'd be loving playing on saturday - looking for my chance to ram those words down his throat. Might be worth a bit of an ear cupping goal celebration even  :)

Is it Artell who's a qualified forensics man? Maybe the Grim Reaper can help nudge him into being an employed forensics man.

Not sure how this chap could end up being the Crewe chief.
Remember him as a tall bloke for Morecambe that scored from the odd set piece in the lower leagues.
Hopefully, MB can out think him on the day of the match.

Well I really did think Artell's pre match words would have really wound up our lads to put in a strong performance - how completely and utterly wrong can you be!

My apologies to Mr. Artell for doubting him.

On another note, just seen Blackpool trounce Carlisle today (headed north on the station platform rather than south - good decision!)  and they totally deserved it with their pivot man Delfounso (ex Aston Villa?) dominant. Watch out for these for a late run, as Gary Bowyer has them really playing and is centring his team around Delfounso.

Looking forward to Morecambe away though - so Town have 2 weeks to put things right!

Artell was right indeed... however is still a member walking around on the pitch as the Crewe players were warming up in his swanky suit.

Artel sounds thick due to his Yorkshire accent.

However he holds a degree (in psychology I think). He was only trying to instill confidence in the team.

Good luck, keep the faith in Marcus Bignot,  a good honest pro.
