Good to see Vose back on the bench. Interesting to see how that very inexperienced front 2 do.

Mate of mine is a Pompey fan. Reckons Luton were brutal at Fratton Park and came with the sole intention of kicking Portsmuth off the pitch.
Hope the boys are up for it.

Guess we'll see what happens no idea what to expect from today, at least it's nice to see a bench with options. Hope to see more attacking intent and less messing around with the ball in our own half.

Had a bit of a stinker last week IMO and Davies will be chomping at the bit for his chance. Bench is on the OP

I thought Jones would have got a start, Davis in to add a bit of experience I reckon as there are a few changes
Posted by: Posh Harry, February 4, 2017, 2:57pm; Reply: 12
Personally thought Davies looked as likely as anyone to cause the opposition problems when he came on last week. Although he didn't have much competition to be fair!

Hoped Asante would start, nevertheless give us 100% lads!

watching through text... doesn't seem to bad, anyone listening to radio or at the game give us a quick analyse?
Posted by: HertsGTFC, February 4, 2017, 3:53pm; Reply: 21
Looking better all round, much more competitive, only thing missing is a shot on target
Posted by: Fish fryer, February 4, 2017, 4:04pm; Reply: 22
Gunning has got a bit of a swagger about him and looks comfortable bringing the ball out.  Osborne  starting to see a bit more of the ball and Andrews having a good game

Attacking midfielder similar to Osbourne

MB has gone all PH on subs, nothing until the last minute when we clearly need some fresh players on.
Posted by: Abdul19, February 4, 2017, 4:43pm; Reply: 43
Call me a pessimist, but first and foremost I want us to stay up. The bottom 4 are all losing and the 14 point gap to the bottom 2 is now a 15 point one. A point at home to Luton would be a decent result.

Ooh, triple sub. Fucking come on Town, all or nothing!

I think we're just going to be a mid table team , Win one , lose one , draw one.
Im sure this'll please many of the happy clappers on here but I think its a bit of a shame , this league is nothing special but then again neither are we

It'd be a stepping stone for future campaigns.

Step 1: Get yourself established in the division.

More would be nice first time of asking but I don't think being content with consolidation constitutes happy clapping.

Rather than talk about happy clapping, you could say some people are never happy. I seem to remember a similar proportion of the fanbase moaning non-stop when we were in what is now the Championship!

Glass half full, glass half empty... positive outlook or negative. I know how I like to live my life.  :K)

This Season ain't over yet though! How about with give this 'new' team a chance to evolve together? My guess is you thought Hurst had signed a load of pap, well Bignot seems to agree, no?

Our first season back in the FL with a manager that's never been a FL manager. Then he goes half way through and we get another manager with no FL experience. A whole new batch of players mid-season. Losing our best player and our best loaned player... Anyone with half a brain cell will accept mid table is acceptable for the first season.
Posted by: lukeo, February 4, 2017, 5:01pm; Reply: 58
ps 1-1 at home when our home form has been poor v's a team in the play offs WITH a few new faces in town. Acceptable. I'm slightly gutted because we was 1-0 up for ages but it's life, I'll take a point.

UTM

ps well done Macca

Gary Barlow up front and Jason Orange as a sweeper??

Don't think this league is that easy, I'd rather stick with Yussuf and Gunning tbh   ;)

Draw against Luton. I'd take that any time. But given the changes and our home form, it feels even better.
Posted by: chicaneuk, February 4, 2017, 6:09pm; Reply: 63
Well done Macca. That's got to be a massive confidence booster on your first game back in the squad.

Sounds like we were the victims of the usual calibre of refereeing we have had to become accustomed to.. even Luton fans said it was clearly not an intentional handball so it made it even sweeter to not concede it and walk away with a point.

UTM.

Surely you've missed the smiley face off Ginny.  He was absolute crap right from the start--he didn't spot any of the diving or the pushes in the back. But thats the way Luton always play and always seem to get away with it.

I think he let a lot go for both sides to be honest.
Posted by: Mrs Doyle, February 4, 2017, 8:51pm; Reply: 67
Yeah the one where Ben Davis clearly handed the ball to keep it in touch on the line was a classic everybody but the dummy linesman and the ref see it lol. We were laughing our heads off in the findus lower even Davis had a cheeky grin on his face. ;D ;D ;D
Posted by: Maringer, February 4, 2017, 9:27pm; Reply: 68
It was a weird handball to attempt as well - would have been our throw if it went out in any case! I thought the ref let a lot go and Yussuf did well when allowed to back in to his defender (and I thought he played very well). Asante didn't get the same joy against their No. 6 whose pushes and shoves put him off too much.

One area I thought the ref was too lenient was with their No. 17 who kept pulling our players back in midfield as they were trying to break, but was never booked for it. No foul for his challenge on Davies for their goal, but I wonder if he'd have been so brave had he rightfully been booked earlier in the game?
Posted by: jamesgtfc, February 4, 2017, 10:13pm; Reply: 69
Even Bignot was laughing about that Davies handball. I thought first half was terrible but the second half was entertaining.

Highlight of the first half was Yussuf colliding with the Luton Manager on the touchline.
