Look at that bench, so attacking. It's good to see options on there.

Notice that Venney is on the bench again.

Marcus must rate him and it might only a matter of time before he gets a game.

Jones on the bench and no Gowling? Injured or on his way out?

Edit

Or maybe what Moosey says in the post below.. Jones can cover two positions.

Jones the only defender, i suppose he can cover left (?) and centre.  Hopefully a fairly open game and we can keep Podge quiet, he has a partner today though so will have to be on the ball and not give him the freedom of the park like we did at "the" BP.

If Comley is to go back, then McAllister's return to action is perfect timing. Hope he comes through the ressie game ok.

Maybe

Gowling - Shrewsbury
Venney - non league

I would rather see Gowling in the team than Boyce altho tbf Boyce didn't let anyone down when he returned to the team. Listening to teeside Bbc radio he was identified as a weak link in our defence as they had seen him play before, hopefully he proves them wrong

Keeping the ball in their half rtequires people who can pass and move and control the ball which we dont have ATM. This is what MB is trying to sign i hope with Osbourne

Ball is moved quickly from the keeper to midfield nowadays, really noticeable how good our keeper is at distributing the ball.

I have a feeling that Hartlepool will say something like "yeah, but we beat you 3-0" and we will say absolutely nothing........

Lucky its not 3pts per goal then isnt it 😂

Brilliant result -14 pts from the 50pts safety milestone but a play off chase well and truly on now.

Played it a bit dangerously in the second half that last minute free kick was a nervous moment but they held on for a win. Henderson only conceded 1 goal in what 4 games now?

And we're unbeaten, won 3, drawn 1

An away win of great character and resolve.  Coupled with the breaking news of Toto's sending off.  (Cannnot believe that no one picked up on this and posted the news above).   >:(

We could do with Henderson on loan for the rest of the season now.

Wish we could sign him. He's much better getting the ball out to our players

When you can defend as well as we are at the minute, you don't need to play brilliantly. Sneaking up the table now UTM

Well done Town - 3 games in a week including long journeys to Carlisle and Hartlepool - could have been one step too far today - but it wasn't - brilliant result :)

I think the last four games have seen us well established in this league now, looking up and not down. 10 points from 12 is more than i hoped for and the bottom sides just keep on losing. Play offs are not beyond us now.

Just how I feel. Established. Hoping those words 'x points from safety' will become irrelevant in the next few weeks, maybe if the next intended signings come off we might even begin to dare to dream once more.

For all Marcus's talk about attacking he must have done something with the defence as well, only 1 goal conceded in open play since Nov 28th at Crawley. That is what we can build success on.

Just need to add a bit more firepower now as games like today can slip away from you if you don't get that second. Need a bit more from midfield.

If he gets his targets, then we could be in for a very exciting second half of the season. Imagine if he can pair this defensive stability with attacking flair.

Said it before and will say it again - signing Henderson till EOS and keeping Bogle through this window will be the most important pieces of business in Jan!

Whose Boyle?  ;D

Agree all the same. Henderson gives the defence confidence. We were saying before he came in that you could see the defence were hesitant with Macca in the team and had lost confidence in him but all keepers have a wobble at some stage, even those at the top. Been surprised at how good Hendo is though, given his age and lack of experience. He is one confident lad.

I think Dean has a great chance of playing for England - last week at Carlisle, I watched him at close quarters second half, and he was consistently, when required, coming out and catching the ball through a ruck of players around the penalty spot. He is seriously good i.m.o.

Hopefully Man U will let him develop with Town for the rest of this season - now he is (deservedly) in.

For some reason my phone changed it haha!! Yea keeping Bogle...

As good as he seems,  because of his age he will probably have a period of loss of form/confidence sometime and if he his still with us lets hope Macca can be his good self when called on.
We are lucky to have two good keepers playing for us at the moment
