Good test of MB's tactical credentials now.

By the sounds of it, that first half was controlled by Carlisle. Let's see how he changes things for the second half.

Hopefully, Bignot will give them a 'rollocking' and change this game - because this is a 'big' opportunity.

Plymouth are getting undone by Barnet at home, even Akinde's managed to score from open play.

About time we stop shooting ourselves in the foot at home and make Blundell Park a fortress.

Would have taken that at the start of the game. Three league games for MB with two games against the top two teams in our division and no losses yet. Promising, something to build on for sure.

Four points against the top two teams in the division with a new manager isn't a bad return at all.

And even that home draw against Barnet doesn't look too bad given their result tonight.

But Leyton Orient though... losing at home, again! Is that seven straight home defeats? And we think we have a problem at home...

Wonder if Ollie Palmer is regretting going back to them?

Subbing mostly from what I've seen.

Great fight back from the side tonight - there are no given results this year, and every point will be fought for - still in 6th and the top two played in succession.

Good start to a tough run of games in the manager's honeymoon period. 5 out of 9 points gained.
Posted by: Kris2, November 22, 2016, 9:53pm; Reply: 75
Turned out to be more or less the game I was expecting just more goals in it. They passed the ball around well and are a good physical team, we showed great character to come back and equalise twice was happy for Bogle who got to make amends for the penalty miss against Barnet and felt Tombola deserved a goal and he really seemed to enjoy that it'll give him confidence.

Battled for a decent point in the end.

Where could we be with a bit of tightening up at the back and a touch of luck? 4 goals conceded in the last 2 home games; 2 pens,1 Macca gaff and an O.G.

Wonder how MB will approach this, stick with tonights line up or dabble with the back line, Pearson/Henderson given a chance to shine?

I really really enjoyed that match, attacking style, 2 teams going for it. Last 2 home matches I've enjoyed. Better than what I've been used too, defensive style and nicking a goal, even though that brought us success.

I said earlier in the season we made a few too many defensive errors, last 2 games the same. Maybe being pressured into conceding/giving away pens etc is a better way of putting it.

4 points from the top 2 teams by quite some way at this point in the season is very very good. Entertaining, picking up points. Carry on :)

Yeah I saw that and thought "Hurst out" by Christmas and back to Boston or some other NL backwater! I even enjoy listening to JT more now as I think he was dour in response to dour hurst tactics and play. Early days but loving the buzz - even comes through on MP very well.
