If a manager is good, it doesn't matter where he comes from. It's about people skills, motivational skills and knowledge of the game - that isn't exclusive to FL managers! Paul Hurst was a non-league manager last year....now he's in League 1.

Hasn't he just signed a 5-year deal with Darlo?

We should not rule out any potential manager based on a "general rule".  Each on their own individual merits.

Martin won't leave us at all; he had Football League and Conference clubs come in for him, in the couple of seasons.

In the 5 seasons he has had with us, we've had 3 promotions and 1 play-off failure. Currently 2nd in the Conference North in his 5th season. Plays some really exciting football and he's massively popular up here.

He has his own football academy up here too, so it'd take something special for him to leave.

As people have said, he's just signed a 5 year deal with us. He has unfinished business and his goal is to us back in the Conference, then maybe the Football League.

Take those two clowns from Salford if you want, absolute thugs at the best of times. But you can do so much better than looking in the Non-League. Plenty of decent FL managers currently unemployed.

I'll be keeping an eye out for results. #UpTheMariners

Just been reading up on the new ground Darlington are sharing with the Rugby club, looks like it might need expanding if you get promoted again.

I seem to recall the mininum stadium size for promotion to the National League is 4,000? Probally get it paid for through grants from the FA etc.

Aye, we have fund-raised enough to build up to 3,000 for the moment. But if we do get another promotion, then we'd have up until the following March of the season to show potential of expanding the ground - Which I am sure we'd be able to do.

Been a fantastic few seasons, best I have seen as a Darlo fan. Getting knocked that far down, in a way, has been a blessing as we've rebuilt ourselves in the community and there's a great feel-good factor about the club now.
