John - if you are considering Steve Evans - don't!

Please do some due diligence (and I am not referring to what happened at Boston with him). Every other candidate Trumps Steve Evans.

Couldn't ever see Fenty working with Steve Evans and I wouldn't want him too either.

Give me your reasons for not wanting Evans?

How does all other candidates 'Trump' him?

According two the stats, only Adkins is on par with him on promotions.

If you don't want him because you 'don't think' he is a nice guy, then god help this club with fans like you who don't want us to progress.

Evans has track record of dodgy doings, I don't want another Newell scenario.

I don't doubt his managerial ability. I can even forgive his financial misdemeanours. Just do your due diligence John.

Track record? Can't remember seeing anything in the papers about anything away from Boston.

Harry's Redknapp and Sam Allerdyce have been involved in dodgy doings... would you not take any of them then?

2011 - Crawley Town - Promoted from Conference
2012 - Crawley Town - Promoted from League Two
2013 - Rotherham United - Promoted from League Two
2014 - Rotherham United - Promoted from League One

Whether or not you like his personality (or his past misdemeanours), the man wins promotions for fun. He keeps himself in good nick, too...

For what it's worth, his last two jobs have been in the Championship and I'd imagine he has greater aspirations than a return to League Two. He would, hypothetically at least, be an excellent appointment though.

Pretty sure this was his audition to be Skeg's new 'Jolly Fisherman'

He may be a girl private but Evans would steady the ship and get the best out of what we have. We can't afford to slip into the Conference again.

great appointment he's lost weight as well him or Adkins

Problem is Evans has most recently managed in the Championship (a big side too). Would he really drop to our level on the wages PH was on? I'd like Adkins but the same applies to him. These guys will want big bucks. I presume we couldn't compete with Shrewsbury wage-wise so what hope have we got of getting these "household" names. Slade and Hurst both were young managers at the start of their careers. Anyone who has tasted success will want big wages.

Another relegation to the Conference would cost us a hell of a lot more though, Rob!

I think Fenty will struggle to work with anyone who a) has a bigger Ego than him and b) would question his decisions.

Didn't Evans get escorted out of Blundell Park once by the police?

Will he have to go cap in hand to apologise to Nick Dale and pwomise to never be naughty again if he becomes manager?

err if Evans is so easy to get, why haven't Shrewsbury got him?

He wouldn't come here, since WHSmith has closed its difficult to get a brown envelope in the town.  ;)

No. Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Not worth the risk.

Tell me more ginny.have a friend who has played for him. Is an ignorant sexist bully would hate to see him at BP. I really don't think he would gel

with our critical support. Crowley,Adkins ,Shakespeare, Archibald, Bentley, Stubbs are far more attractive alternatives

With all that make-up you'd think he was in touch with his feminine side.  ;D

I'd me more concerned about his history on the wrong side of tax dealings. There'd always be a doubt wouldn't there. Steer clear.

If you're referring to Lincoln's manager, his name is Danny Cowley.

Puzzled whether the red cross for this was from tax fiddlers or anti-sexists.

He was ranting and raving about a handball that wasn't given and some folks in the Main Stand complained about his foul language to the rozzers, who marched him from the ground to much hilarity.

I heard he receives a monthly brown envelope from royal mail so that he only purchases his brown envelopes from them.

He did not pick Shaun for Grimsby so not sure he would want him at a higher level, Macca steady but far from irreplaceable & Bogle I would want to keep but would help if he put more of his chances away otherwise he may find himself behind Tuton!!!!!!!!

As for Managers who knows, Cowleys got a great reputation but limited experience and maybe too early for them to make this step up, Adkins always comes over well & has been successful but his last few jobs have gone south. Sometimes you are just lucky, for example, Russ wilcox at Scunny, unbelievable run of results secures promotion, then next year quickly gets sacked & fails at York.

The only certainty is whoever they appoint there is no certainty it will work out as I remember to my cost as being one of the first in the telegraph's comments section to compliment JF on the appointment of Mike Newell !!
