I have made my point by boycotting tonight's match.

But as a Town fan I see no harm in wanting to know how the players representing our club are getting on tonight.

MARINERS: McKeown, Mills, Gowling, Pearson, Andrew, Bolarinwa, Berrett, Disley, Vose, Tuton, Jackson.

ON THE BENCH: Jones, Venney, Summerfield, Wright, Vernon.

Bradford make a sub after 3 minutes to keep within the rules.
Pompeys twitter account mugs the EFL off
all grounds are virtually empty.

awesome!

I'm not listening to the game but flicking on twitter to see how it's going. Dont care of the result but hope Disley and Co have a good game and get some good game time.

If bans only count in this competition, then McKeown should have thumped a few blokes on the way off and sworn at the ref, so he could have missed the whole of the rest of the competition.

It seems he handled the ball a millimetre outside the box. Compare and contrast a player who takes out an opponent at neck high with all studs showing and then berates the referee with a non stop barrage of abuse who gets a... yellow card!

Agree. Although a gentlmens agreement before the game to keep it easy and play it as a friendly maybe easier to negotiate. The FA clearly won't listen.

If he wasn't being closed down then he shouldn't have been sent off. Just because a keeper handles outside the box doesn't mean an automatic red card (Wembley v Bristol Rovers). Only if it denies an obvious goalscoring opportunity should it be a red.

if the ball was heading to the goal Les then he would have been denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity whether anyone else was anywhere near it or not....sounds an odd one and possibly another Macca mental moment like his pass on Saturday.

Wembley last year all over again....Palmer hit the ball goalward towards an empty net and Puddy handled so assume what McKeown did tonight cannot have been any more of an offence. Same old story....refs make it up as they go along imho

Anyway that's all academic.....find it a bit strange to say but so pleased that Town lost tonight and that hardly anyone turned up to witness it

I'm mainly pleased that our fans adhered by and large to the #BTeamBoycott - I always want the best for my team and tonight's outcome in a perverse kind of way is about as good as I could have expected  ::)

from reading the text report on the O.S it sounds like Mckeown came out to meet a long clearance , Pearson was heading back and the ball bounced between them at the edge of the D, that would leave it pretty clear that the ball was central and therefore heading towards the goal so if Mckeown did handle it then pretty cut and dried.  Sounds like a communication member up.
The only thing with the Puddy/Palmer incident was that the ball was out on the wing and therefore harder to determine if it would have been heading between the sticks.

Agree with your other comments.

Can anyone who dares to admit they went let us know how Shaun Pearson did in goal tonight?

Thing is why risk Macca at all, when Warrington was available, plus Pearson could have got injured being brave at the feet of some spotty faced wannabe

Agree with that, perfect game to give squad players a run out.
One thing (the only thing) that I miss from the tinpot is a regular dose of Tuesday night footy, seems to be a blank almost every week. This was even worse, a drab and very underwhelming night (by all accounts) where the only hope was to get through the game injury free.
Waste of everybody's time, unless you count the discovery of Pearson as the ideal 4th- choice goalkeeper as valuable.

Come on then, own up... who went last night? It's not a witch hunt by any means, it's personal choice. Just interested to hear people's reasons for going?

Highlights below:
Daft red card, no danger, their guy is jogging after the ball and has no chance of getting it, slowing up as McKeown claims it. No danger at all. Misjudgement from Macca, yes, and worth a yellow.
Ironic that one Ref can potentially jeopardise a clubs season  through ' wanting to spoil the game' with a red, yet another will be a stickler in a nothing game in front of 600 people :-/

Red card side I think these highlights prove that no matter what we do at the minute the ball just will not hit the back of the net. They score from the silliest thing and we make all these moves we just don't score from.

No way that should ever be given as a red card. A stupid misjudgement by McKeown but no Leicester player was within ten yards of the ball. The referee is clearly a cretin.

Didn't go to the game, but highlights interesting

We played some nice stuff and they weren't up to much

Gave away a Silly goal and there were a couple of poor defensive lapses but not disheartened about the result

The situation which led to the sending off could have easily been avoided and was not really a goal scoring opportunity-if that is still the rule

If this is about developing young England talent, didn't see much! Lets hope other clubs have more talent or the national team is going to have even bigger problems than iceland

I also hope two u23 teams make the final. would be rediculous and hilarious at the same time. also think if they did they shold donate the 'winnings' to whichever normal club they knocked out in the semis or quarters (providing they did)

Remarkable recovery from (mystery) 'illness' by Bogle Has trained this week according to Telewag - must have woken up 100% Wednesday morning (or perhaps he recovered just after kick off on Tuesday!) Nice one Hursty  ;)

Norwich's U23's seem to be a decent team having won 6-1 and 5-0 at Peterborough and Barnet respectively in their 2 games so far.
