We have played 5312 games according to the Results Database
http://thefishy.co.uk/resultsdb.phpDepends what you count as a game. We don't count pre-season or
war games.
Do you mean the games against Scunny in the 70s. Going in the Donny Road end we needed helmets due to the number of missiles thrown.

So maybe our 5000th game was actually a nondescript non league game and they didn't really want to make an occasion of it.
When I have a bit of time I will go back 312 games and see which match was our 5000. Whats the chances of Burton away or the Braintree thumping?

Well what's the chance of that?
Just had a quick look at Rob's database and I will have to check later but it WAS Mansfield!! When we beat them 7-2 New Years Day. I missed it as I was on holiday a repeat scoreline on Saturday would be nice.

According to my database our
1000th game was on 24/02/1923: Grimsby 7 Ashington 4
2000th 30/04/1952 Grimsby 2 Chesterfield 0
3000th 25/11/1972 Wrexham 3 Grimsby 2
4000th 15/02/1992 Millwall 1 Grimsby 1
5000th 01/02/2011 Southport 2 Grimsby 2
6000th should be around 2030!
More recent occasion was 11/08/2015 when we beat Barrow 4-1 at BP, that was our 2000th win! Our 2000th defeat was on 12/03/2013 at Mansfield.
