On a months loan, will do the lad good to get some competitive match time under his belt.

He is a good player. I'm a little bit surprised that a Conference club didn't loan him. Ferriby for example.

How many levels down is that ?

Goodbye and Good luck Harry.

Personally i think this is the first toll of the end of his GTFC days. Just dont see him being given an opportunity, he could tear up trees down there but wont get a look in. Realistically he is now 4/5th in line for a berth in his position and one of the players in front of him is the club captain.

Shame as i like him as a player, Venney also but just cant see either getting a go unless there is a major injury crisis of biblical proportions.  I hope i am wrong.

I rate him highly but I think you're probably right

He's the one that when I've seen him looks to clearly have the ability. He's still young and will definitely benefit from playing against men.
I disagree if he's the best player on the park every week at that level, people will take notice. It's certainly not going to be easy for him, but youngsters have to force their way in nowadays as the stakes are too high for managers to blood them. It's not something I like, but it's hard to see youngsters getting a chance. To get a chance in the team they have to be the best player available in that position.
Hopefully he will tear it up at Grantham and come back with an enhanced reputation.

Yes, I can't see the sense in keeping players you will never play and paying a wage for them. We are signing young players on loan who are the same age more or less as Clifton & Venney. We have to be realistic about young players. To get into a Hurst team a lad would have to be quick, clever and big and capable of taking a first team spot from day one. Fair enough, that's his policy. So it would be better to be ruthless at the end of Y2 and only give a pro contract to someone who is absolutely outstanding because the likes of Venney and Clifton are simply wasting their time and clogging up the budget.

Harry had a blinder on Tuesday night, never stopped running and scored two cracking goals, one with either foot from outside the box. Hopefully PH won't need him and he can stay with the Gingerbreads a bit longer

Your fans have a lot of good things to say about him. He still trains with us during the week and is clearly making the most of some first team games at that level. Should be a great confidence boost that will hopefully see him kick on.

We should be giving them run outs in the Football League Trophy.

Clifton who has already spent two months with the club, has been allowed to extend for a further month from his parent club, League Two Grimsby Town.

Harry has his last game for the Gingerbreads on Saturday and there isn't anyone at Grantham that won't be sad to see him leave. I really would love to see him play in the football league in the future

That's what you want to hear about your teams young players. Did he play centrally for you?

yes he did play in the centre and you could tell he trained every day as his fitnes was something else and for a player who isn't the biggest in the world he certainly wasn't bullied at all by opponents.

Good for Harry. Think I read that it's his last game for you today but I can see him staying until the end of the season?

Any why not if he gets a starting place, is liked by the fans and continues to develop.

Great news that Harry is staying at Grantham Town for the rest of the season. Hopefully this will benefit everyone, Grantham get a very good young player and Harry gets some games in a competitive league
