Signing from QPR?

20 year old midfielder - played on loan at Carlisle

A central midfield option with a bit more athleticism and pace could prove useful. Who would miss out, however?

Defensive midfielder. QPR fans surprised he has gone to a league 2 club and not a league one club. Carslile fans also impressed by him.

They said the next signing isn't Brandon, which means he could still sign, just not the next one.

I see what you did there - and we now have a new reserve keeper, so well thought out !

He can sign now, then ??

When was the last time we had such a busy transfer deadline day?

I was thinking the same Les. I can't remember the last time we signed 1 never mind 3 (so far) on the last day. I have also heard from a QPR fan giving young Mr Comley a good report.

The fact that on paper these are all decent players (even if theyre on loan) indicates that the club is really aiming for the top half of the table IMO. If we get the pacy centre half we all want then the playoffs should be achievable. :)

March 2002 at a guess. Vintage deadline day.

Brandon could be the extra defender we need to play in front of the back four

Was that the Willie Falconer deadline day?

Hmmm. Wonder if this is an indication that McAllister might be out longer than originally anticipated?

Regardless, sounds like a promising signing and I hope he has the pace which our current midfield is lacking.

Yep. And Terry Cooke. And Paul Robinson. And I think, Robert Taylor too.

That Robert Taylor looked quality in the half hour before he was crocked and never played again.

Don't forget that's not it, someone mentioned in another post we can still sign out of contract players.
Might be one gem left, possible , optimistically grinning . :)

Wonder if Jones or mills might be an option. Clearly the 3 above are not good enough for league 2

That's what I thought. Hasn't Jones played at CB for Hartlepool in the past?

Zak Mills is actually a decent defender, don't know why he hasn't played yet but looking forward to seeing him. He's the guy that can do huuge throw-ins.

Really!  individual mistakes have cost us points so far this season, but it has not been the same player in each match that has been at fault,
Macca, Peason, Gowling, Disley, Boyce Somerfield, Mills and Andrew have all made mistakes that have led to goals this season, Dis and Mills last night.
Thats eight defenders who by your criteria are not good enough for this league, we might as well pack it in now.

Two of that eight are midfielders and one is a goalkeeper. We don't even have 8 defenders!

Good quality signing this very comfortable on the ball with real quality to pick passes and pretty mobile. Hopefully he gets a run in the team and we play to his strengths . Attracting players we wouldn't have had a hope of recruiting in the NL , hoping Pauls got a CB lined up on a freebie , I've got faith - he's always one step ahead of us fans . UTMM .

Comley  seems to have a great attitude.

Not many 20 year olds born and brought up in London are prepared to up sticks and go out on loan to 'footballing outposts' like Carlisle and Grimsby.

Says a lot about the lad IMO
