Well if Brandon Buckley is as good at playing football as Alan Buckley was manager then we've got a hell of a prospect on our hands.

Alan was a very good striker in his day.

Played for Walsall & Birmingham in the old 1st div.

Is he Adam's son or Simon's son then?

Brandon made his Youth team debut against Rotherham last week and is set to make his full debut v Doncaster Rovers at Cheapside on Saturday.

Taken from Town's website.

Not sure who Brandon is playing for - 'is it the first team?' Can't believe they would be playing Doncaster Rovers at Cheapside? Is a debut a debut - or isn't it?

Anyway, best of luck to the lad - sometimes the genes miss out a generation. :)

Guess we'll see how things work out for the lad. Hopefully he's inherited his Grandad's eye for goal and love for playing football the proper way. His Dad could never cut it as a pro but might be different this generation.

Let's hope he inherited his grandads quick feet rather than his dad's light fingers  ;)

I guess we have all made mistakes.

Adam was a very good player so lets hope the Buckley magic is there.

is Alan Buckley still involved somehow with the youth team or did that end a while ago?

I have no idea how good this lad is but I remember thinking his dad imo was nowhere near a pro footballer when he played for us

Agreed. He stood out like a sore thumb in matches and was clearly only picked because his father was the manager!

He had the same bad reputation at both Grimsby and Lincoln. It's weird I don't really remember him playing much I recall what he looked like and I think his number was 18 but don't remember much maybe because he was invisible during matches. Vaguely recall him taking some of the worst corners in the world.

If he was successful as a tealeaf you would not have heard about it.

Well he was quite successful I suppose - he got the gear which included a team mates watch I think - but he got caught

I remember him hitting a left footer from about 30 yards that hit the crossbar and bounced down onto the line once at a home game but that is it
