What would be the minimum after 10 league games you'd settle for?. 5 Home games against Morecombe, Orient, Stevenage and Newport. So I think 3 wins, 3 draws (12 points) would be acceptable, and I'd be more than happy with 15/16, which is realistic...20 or more and we'd be on course for promotion.

14 points from 10 over a season would see us midtable. I'd be happy with that.

This is the kind of mentality that helped create the poisonous atmosphere at some games last season. Let's just enjoy the ride and judge if we're happy after 10 games not demand an outcome and base our happiness on that. We've been out the league for five years and much has changed.

So unless we're on for automatic promotion after 10 games people are going to stop coming?

Im just thinking about your drifting fan-diehards will put up with just enough to keep us clear of danger, but the only way to get 5000 every week is to hammer Morcambe on Sat and win lots of games afterwards especially at home, people pay to watch winning teams and dcecent football.

We were near the top for large parts of last season but we rarely got a bumper crowd against average teams. How many will turn up week after week for a mid table team after Christmas?

I will as someone who has committed to a season ticket and happy to do so which ever end of the table we are........UTM

Take it no-one remembers what Barnsley did last season?? On the basis of targets set above perhaps we should just consign ourselves to either walking the League or being relegated again now..

Just go and watch..enjoy being in the League again and forget daft targets 10 games into a long season.

Win 3 or 4 home games out the first 5, win one and draw a couple of aways. 14/15/16 points would be a great start from a rebuilt side, let's not forget we haven't played 90 minutes against a team our level so we're in no position to judge.

1 more point than the bottom 2.
Expecting a slow start with a bumper Xmas and a sprint finish in the last six weeks.

same as every season under Hurst so far i would imagine...
same pattern to date regards squad building...late additions and gaps seemingly in key positions....no clear starting 11 or formation with 1 week to kick off....
cant see us flying out of the blocks whereas inevitably one or two teams will...
big difference this year though...the standard being hard to beat and a point is a good point approach of Hurst wont necessarily rule us out of the promotion race...more places up for grabs should prolong the season way beyond January now.

4 wins
2 draws
4 losses

Wouldn't be a terrible start

Would be fine - I'd love to see us win more than we lose in the first 10 games because I think we'll improve as the season goes on. I think PH has signed some steady eddies at this level and combined them with some raw talent. I'm no more than hopeful but I hope we can punch above our weight.

For me, it will be more important how the team is playing after 10 games rather than how many points we've obtained by that stage.

So many changes, I really don't know what to expect. Prior to 2001 I tended to think it would all work out alright and we'd be fine. Since then, I've learned to hope for the best and expect the worst. I suppose I'd be looking for 18-22 points, but expect about 5.

14 points after 10 games and a mid-table finish would be OK for me this season. Anything better will just be a bonus.
Really excited to be back in the league. Now - bring on the first game!

The standard isn't that much better than the top 5-6 in the conference and as for teams being difficult to beat, that's also balderdash, end of season points tallies points in the direction of an anybody can beat anybody league bar odd exceptions.

Wouldn't really matter if we lost the first ten matches - providing we won the following 30-odd!

More seriously, I hope we'll not lose too many games - I'd like to see us tough to beat in the early stages this season, even if we're not picking up as many points as we'd like. If you can earn plenty of draws, it doesn't take much of an improvement to make the extra step and start winning games. Providing we're mid-table with a month or two of the season to go, there is always the chance of a good run for the play-offs, especially in this division.

I just hope that paul hurst is still our manager after 10/20/30/40 games this will be a indication on how well we doing

If we don't have 30 points, I'll be deconstructing my season ticket (fool)

If you look at our first ten games then bar Orient and Luton we will be playing lower mid table sides and below such as Newport, Notts County, Stevenage and Morecombe therefore we probably need to get some points early doors and hopefully build on that.

If the team produce good attacking football that gets the crowd going then results will follow.

From pre season it is easy to see that we have quicker players now so we should be competitive.

Als good to see midfielders shooting from distance which was Clay's downfall.

I wonder if Hurst is going to be brave enough to risk keeping Diz on the bench and make the midfield quicker?

Can't wait until Saturday !!

We always seem to be slow starters. Even last year with a settled side and an easy start we made a meal of it. I'd be delighted if we are anywhere near halfway after 10 games. I think League 2 will prove a higher standard than last time we were in it, hopefully we'll be better equipped than we were then. I think we'll need maybe a season to adjust to this level, the teams in it, and the standard required. Can't wait for the challenge though!

Bump....nice to see us on 16 points and 6th in the table, i'm sure at this early stage we have exceeded most peoples expections....onwards and upwards UTM
