Rumoured to have just left his job with Hull.

Surely the FA aren't going to troll everyone with a surprise announcement?

Now that is a name no one on here put forward as our new striker 😳

Well Sunderland are probably looking for a manager. Maybe Bruce has just had enough of Burnsy.

We can forget about loan deals from Hull now then.

Yeah, I bet Sunderland have made an approach for him.

That'd be a popular return (with Newcastle fans)!

The Sunderland owner Ellis Short is a mean b***d who wont put the investment in to get them up the league. Big Sam got some good players relatively cheaply last season to keep them up but has struggled this season to sign quality players as the selling clubs now want more because they know all the Prem clubs have a lot more money. i reckon hes glad the England job came up. I doubt Bruce would touch it. Moyes however is desperate to get back into the Prem so will take it.

Had a board meeting this morning (according to Look Hull), probably walked as it seems  its almost impossible to work for the Allams. Cant bring any players in, club sale on hold till September, doesn't know if he will be wanted by the new owners (if there are any).
Probably already got job offers, as a previous poster said could be Sunderland.

So season starts in 3 weeks, most of their squad injured, no signings, no manager, no fit decent keeper, and an owner who wants out, God they are in a   state

Fancy them getting relegated, with brucey they would have stood a chance.  ;)

My impression is that Bruce has not been too happy with the Hull owners for a while. If Sunderland came for him he'd be up the A19 like a shot.

Confirmed, he's gone.

England's assistant manager??

Edit forget that, just seen tweet:-
I'm told Steve Bruce is distraught at leaving @HullCity but he'd reached the end of his tether at no transfer deals being done . #hcafc

Well, yeah, but they do have about a hundred million quid coming their way this season, no strings attached and another £40 million the season after if they are relegated, so they aren't in all that bad a position!

I reckon Allam must be desperate to cash in on this - lots of money to be made due to the silly TV money which comes on tap this season.

Can't see Ellis Short appointing a man he sacked.

I think talks with Mo0yes are at an advanced stage - they are just pushing England for the compensation before they can sign him up
