What a fitting tribute to him and all the chums most would have been town supporters if some part of the ground was named after him perhaps the boardroom becoming the Sidney wheelhouse suite, now ono one is about to remind us of this horrendous event we have a duty to remind the future generations of this hideous war

Something is being unveiled at Town's game with Leyton Orient in August by the Trust. Announced in the last hour on Twitter.

The club did a two page article on the Footballers Battalion, mentioning Sid Wheelhouse, in the programme for the FC Halifax game on Remembrance Day 2014.

There is a cracking little book available called Over The Line by Tom Palmer , based on a true story about the Footballers Battallion that features Sid Wheelhouse. It's only about 130 pages but is a cracking read about footballers in the First World War. I got mine from Amazon.
