When I were a lad It used to cost 60p to get into Blundell Park, a programme was 20p and the bus fare was 14p each way (there was no concept of a return). My day out used to cost just over a quid. I only got 50p a week pocket money at the time. Fortunately, my dad used to give me a pound note which would cover most of the cost of going to games.

So you got a pound a week in total then Rob!

Can't remember how much it was the first season (71-2) but I can remember it going up to 15p. 15p!! That's 3 bob! Outrageous.

Most of my initial games at BP used to be free.... well free for the second half that is because they used to just let you in at half time without having to pay ;)

As a kid it was great just to turn up and walk in even if I had no money though I do recall one game where going in at half time wasn't that good....the night we put seven past Scunny as five of those goals came in the first half

Absolutely nothing, one of the perks of your Dad being the club doctor!

I was in the AMS when I first started being allowed to go on my own. It was 80p to go in the Harrington Corner and £1.20 to go on the Pontoon.

As a nipper I paid 2/6 at first which horrifyingly went upo to 2/9. My first away match on my own apart from Scunny was Oldham in 69/70 and the train fare to Oldham was £1 and 4 shillings return. (sadly I know this because I still have the ticket!!!)

Fairly certain my first adult season ticket was £17.50 -  for a season that included Chelsea, West Ham and Newcastle Utd coming to Blundell Park. Supporters' Club coach travel to Bristol would set you back just £7.00.Programme £0.30

1980-81 season

First went as a newspaper seller so got in for free. Can't remember how much it cost when i packed in selling papers and started to pay but whatever it was for a boy in the Barratts stand in the 72 season. Most games though, we climbed over the fence into the back of the Ponny with the help of a ladder from my mates back garden in Blundell Ave.  ::)

Match entrance was £2.50, bus fare 72p and the necessary hot drink at half time was 20p.

I used to go with my old man when I was really young so have no idea how much he paid in the early 80's.
When I first started going on my own in the late 80's it was 1.50p to stand in the Pontoon and 2.50p to sit in the main stand.
My first season ticket cost 40 quid in 1989
