We are both clearly in dire trouble following a horrible start to the season.......
.
Who would have thought when we were both vying for a league 1 place 4/5 years ago we would be languishing at the bootom of the BSP.  Both beaten by a fairly average Darlo side in the last 2 days long season beckons for both - GOD I HATE THIS LEAGUE :o :o :o

How have you found this division ? I know a lot of Imps who really laughed off the suggestion that this league is like freaky and very difficult to get out of. But it is, and it's getting freakier  :-/

Yes that i can believe thought we had turned the corner last friday best home performance i nyears and still managed to draw against Stockport.  Hit woodwork balls off line, offisde goals etc etc but maybe it just proved one thing Stokcport were worse than us......
.
Would not wish the BSP on anyone

Welcome to the BSP Rob,a sh1t league that is also the most difficult to get out of in the right direction.

Sh1tty thing is we were the better side on Saturday and today by all accounts.

Is one of the problems for us as fans that we don't give this league the respect it deserves? There are no end of examples of Conference sides performing with great distinction in the FA Cup against higher opposition.

I have to say, from what I have seen, I believe this league is league 3 in all but name.

Agree with that very well organised sides and at history shows promoted BSP sides tend to do well or at least hold their own

Totally agree mate and i think some fans believe we should only have to turn up to win because we are massive and this is a pub league.

Our budget and fanbase should dictate that we are up the business end at least but we need to be more realistic and build a side capable of challenging.

Walk before we run so to speak.

Welcome by the way.

It comes with over a decade of failure, the galling thing is that when we were in the Championship we used to take great joy at being the minnow getting results against bigger teams now it feels like it's happening to us every other week.  What's worse is the WUM's that have been drawn to this board who may not even be football fans, just losers who get's off on other people's misery.  Some are likely to be Scunts and Gimps, those really bitter fans who have been jealous of Town's previous league history.

The jealous bit YES would agree there i am jealous and envious of your run in the Championship and how well Scunny have done with the endless list of stikers they have churned out......But think it is a sad old day when we were averaging 5000 not too long ago to now be struggling to beat the 2k mark - I know your gates have dropped dramatically also

I wasn't labeling you Rob, I work with a Lincoln fan and have good banter with him.  It's seems we only hear from certain posters after a loss or something happens where they can stir the excrement, pardon my french.

Thing is that being a big club in a division like the BSP isn't always helpful.

Clubs like Braintree and Forest Green are absolutely itching to beat clubs like yourselves because you're considered a scalp. It can take a bit of time to adjust to that and not everyone manages it. It's exacerbated by fans of the bigger clubs fully expecting a side with over 100 years of FL experience to walk all over a part-time side that has spent most of its existence in regional leagues but it doesn't work like that. It's the same at all levels, Nottingham Forest and Leeds took some serious time adjusting to places like Cheltenham and Yeovil in League One.

Makes me laugh when i keep hearing the likes of Grimsby/Lincoln/Stockport refered to as 'Big Clubs' or 'Big Scalps' - But if you playing Hayes who get a few hundred or Alfreton suspose we are.......!

Don't worry about getting to friendly, I wasn't going to invite you round for tea or anything.  Last thing I need is a gimp in my living room gawping at my tele and then having a go at me for keeping little people in a box  ;D

Not sure you can single out Forest Green, they've been in the BSP for years and know what it takes to get results at this level and will have singled out what it takes to beat failing ex-league sides

What they've achieved is fantastic but they survive on tiny attendances and are unlikely ever to challenge for promotion to the league. They've done well just to stay at that level in fairness, rather like Macclesfield in League Two.

FGR and others have only escaped relegation because a club has gone bust, they have had this happen at least once, so have Southport and Alty got 'lucky' a few times!

We absolutely destroyed you in the first 60 minutes to be fair, and it should have been 6 before you even got a kick of the ball. Then we let you have the last 30 minutes and 7 or 8 pointless pot shots at our net, because we're nice like that.

Can't comment on how good Grimsby are as I haven't seen them but you lot are shiite.

Alfreton celebrated like maniacs when they were awarded a penalty against us, let alone when they scored it.

You could well be right but what concern is it to you?

Seriously though True Iron, you make me chuckle with your little digs. You're like one of those kids left outside the pub by his Ma and Pa on a seaside holiday. On the outside looking through the window, desperately hoping that someone will notice you are still there.

Its gone way beyond that, frankly I can't decide if we're bad enough to match your Braindead performance on Saturday? It clashes on tele with those other chancers on X-Factor who like to humiliate themselves on a weekly basis, so we'll have to see.

Btw: Enjoying your cosy chat on this thread with the Imp equivalent of PC Dodds are we? If the festive matches get changed to some unearthly hour, you'll know who is responsible, eh Mr P  ;)

Great summary. I also think TI can only look in disbelief as a thread about one of our managers and fan having a ruck can attract over 13,000 views. Can you blame him for spending all of his free time on here and not the awful Iron Bru board ?

If only we could get this division incorporated into the Football League as "League 3" I wouldnt feel nearly as depressed.

Could we start a petition?
