The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

A bit of a shite draw, that. Let's hope we put in the same sort of performance at Home Park as we did last season!

Rubbish draw, although the way they're going this season we might sneak a result. Tie of the round so far (and a shoe in for tv) is Shaw lane v Mansfield.

Means we can now focus on getting promotion? We do have previous there so it's not all doom and gloom, and they're absolute sh1te this season.

Apart from the fact my boss is a Plymouth fan that's a sh1t draw.

RS may as well go all out attack, but I doubt it.

i thinks its a decent draw tbh.  If we beat them (and the pressure is certainly on them) we'd gain much confidence, and you never know the cup roll could stem from there.  Plymouth didn't beat us last season (so they may be a bit worried).

well they get around the 8000 mark for home games this season so not bad on the potential gate receipts front for this stage

I guess the worst that could happen is we play the first team and get beat, next would be start Clifton, Cardwell, DJ and Tombola and get beat, the next one we draw!

I will go, me & the wife, make a weekend of it, it's a nice place Plymouth seeing as i did live there in 1973 to 1976, any guesses as to why ? Royal Navy. Go to the Barbican area, lovely people, like Grimsby & Cleethorpes & Immingham folk, salt of the Earth people.

Hopefully they'll be in such a relegation mess that they rest some of their better players (who'll still be better than us) in an attempt to put all focus onto staying up and we, as a mid-table side in no danger, go there an exploit this and win.

Shocking draw for the fans. It's a long way to travel but we can win it. Someone on the BBC site has queried why they don't regionalise these early rounds. Less travelling and more local derbies. I think they may have a point.

Very disappointed with this draw,
But....
Imagine if we do sneak a draw or win...
Next round draw could get an easy tie against one of the non league teams
Win that and then on to Manchester United.
We know we can beat them 7-3,done that before!
Come on!

With a trip to Exeter looming as well it would be nice if the Club/Trust got there heads together with something like a target 1k campaign and laid on free or subsidised travel to try and boost the support or we will be lucky to have 200 present.barralad any thoughts?

Not sure the Trust should be subsidising the travelling costs of a certain few from members money

No but they could possibly open dialogue with the Club about getting some bodies down there for what is due to distance a very unappealing trip for most.

That's because im looking at it from a different perspective than you Hagrid and not from the distance to travel 🙄.  Im looking at a bigger gate...team higher in the pyramid and no pressure on us.  They will come to attack us letting us counter.

Rubbish draw, although the way they're going this season we might sneak a result. Tie of the round so far (and a shoe in for tv) is Shaw lane v Mansfield.

And a must win game for Fatty Evans.

The natives are getting restless.

Plymouth may get 8k for a league game but it's the first round of the cup, to them we are a lower league club so I would predict a gate of 3-3500, the majority of their season ticket holders will not want to pay extra.

I'll be able to make this from Cardiff so pretty happy with that. Plus it will be a new ground for me.
