Not surprising looking at the big picture, he really has been dismal even though the seeds were sown for this terminal decline of the club long before he came back.

Didn't we want him at one time and also, Mark Cooper? Managing a team is probably harder than it looks.

FGR manager Mark Cooper next to get the sack

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I wonder if there are any vegan managers out there?

Surprised the Pony Tailed One hasn't pulled the trigger yet.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.

Apparently Vince gave Cooper a 5 year contract for getting them promoted - given the wages they pay it will cost a fortune to get rid of him!

Anyone else of the opinion that it might be a good idea not to sack a manager on a regular basis  ?

He has a fortune to give though! I suspect he's got some sort of clause as well that means Vince wouldn't have to pay the full amount to get rid.

Cooper had some promise early on but he proved to be a very prickly character, not at all good with one to one man management. He seems to have fallen out with fans favourite Noble and apparently Noble's gone.
Maybe it's the pressurised nature of the modern game but managers such as Cooper, Mills, Burr etc seem to have a diminishing shelf life.

To be fair he did a good job at Gateshead (falling over and time wasting isn't as easy as it looks you know).

From the outside it is easy to say clubs overreact by sacking their managers. From the inside rarely a week goes by when there isn't a group of supporters at many clubs demanding the manager be sacked and directors usually give into it eventually. Given time most managers would I suspect turn things around.

You need to pick the right manager and stick by him in the long-term.  The difficulty is finding the right man and then knowing whether you have the right manager in the first place.

The irony in this situation is that York stuck with two wrong managers for far too long - McNamara who had an appalling record, and also Mills, who arguably should've gone before they were relegated from the conference, or before this season started.
