He seems to be the fans favourite round here to take the Vale job

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Planning for the future than taking on an ‘alright’ Conference manager. The bottom three are well adrift already!

I'm sure Aspin got sent off at BP while playing for Port Vale a few years back (maybe in 98/99 season when we were both in the Championship?).

Aspin is a solid non-league manager. He did consistently well with Harrogate for a number of years but never quite got them promoted, then he took Halifax from where Cleethorpes are to the Conference play-offs in three or four seasons.

Thought he might have done well at Gateshead last season but they fell short of my expectations.

I think it'd be a very sensible appointment for Vale, given their circumstances.

They were last year but they all stayed up. Hartlepool and Leyton Orient had 18 and 14 points after 11 games respectively and went down. We currently have 14. It can and will all change!

I could recommend a "good experienced" manager to them. If he was appointed it would make a good many people happy

Lee Nogan in charge of Gateshead at AFC Fylde tonight. Looks like Aspin off to Port Vale then.

Can I just say that sat represents a lot for us as vale have been v poor thus far this year and it will be a true benchmark as to how good (or i fear,  how bad) we are and where we may finish this year assuming we keep Slade
Anyone have a strong view either way on John Sheridan been GTFC manager?
I have a colleague in the know at Oldham and most where sad to see him go?

Bound to lose aren't we. Whatever the run the opposition are on, Town are bound to end it.

With Aspin  (& Nogan?) in situ at Port Vale and Rudge as Director of Football the Vale fans will be out in force on Saturday.

Do our players have the stomach to be party poopers?
