Really though, a local derby like this should easily be a 12,000 game.  Lincoln were getting 10,000 for their cup games and we'd be able to sell 10,000 home tickets in a decent ground.  The danger is that when your maximum home sell-out caps out at around 5,800, you don't really have much scope to expand the fan base or make a push for a bumper gate on the big days: Opening Day, Christmas and Easter, Derbies, Big club visits, Cup Games.

I agree that 14/15,000 would be a bit big for us at first in a new ground, but I do think it should be a mark of pride for a decent, well supported, traditional league club to be able to accommodate a five-figure crowd, which we could certainly do. 11-12,000 Capacity would be about right.

I'll have to set off for the  loos in the Lower about 10 mins after kick-off to stand a chance of seeing the second half

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Lots of folk from NE Lincs get to watch a game at Blundell Park for the first time. They find the view of the Pontoon a bit restricted though.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.
