There's life in the old dog yet!

Bursar St was going to be closed down for good years ago. Now it'll have something it never had in my day - it's own playing fields.

Second one shows what can be done with enthusiastic volunteers.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Played for St Peters against Bursar Street back in the day, scored the equaliser from right-half.
Went on to Clee Grammar, wore the black and white stripes against Wintringham (always found it odd that 'Grimsby Grammar' played in blue and red) and played with some good players, Bob Leafe, Melly Over etc

A very good use of a listed building. Hope the kids have as great a time there as I did.

Was Mel Over any relation to a Miss/Mrs Over who was a teacher at Bursar Street in the early 70s?
