This as been banded about by some on here. I suggest  they take a look and more importantly LISTEN to the commentary.

"Thoroughly entertaining game?? Not my words and notice Berwicks contribution.

10 minute highlights for every game for free, can't argue with that

I was there and enjoyed the game was a bit frustrated we did not convert our dominance into goals but we looked best team for most of the game and deserved to win.

Did many say it was boring?

Glad we got to see Woolford's part in our winner. Receiving the ball in his own box with his back to the rest of the pitch, most players at our level would have hacked it to safety, but he brought it down, turned away from their player and hit a good ball down the line, which led to the free kick, which led to the goal. We commented on that at the game and his quality and decision making is really good. Great to see some proper footballers finding their way to the club after the non league years.

Did not say many just a few but it was levelled at the team.

Two things stood out for me the determination to win the ball back when not in possession and Matts contribution in almost every attack knocking balls down, flick on's holding the ball up and harassing defenders.

Agree about Woolford he looks class and has a superb footballing brain with ability to do the unexpected.

For the time being I think Town going a bit basic and arguably a bit more direct is the right thing to do when players have yet to gel. I do think though that with Woodford, Barrett, Osborne and Clements in the squad with the trickery of Dembelle etc... once we are settled it could be an interesting 2nd half of the season

"Yeovil think they should have had a share of the spoils.." He is joking isn't he - they were non existent in the first half and had a short spell right at the end when we sat back. We were by far the better team.

Some reasonable footy played at times which isn't always easy when it's wet and windy so credit to the players for having a decent go.

Personally, I thought it was quite a poor game between two poor sides of which Town were the least poor and probably deserved the 3 points.

Thought we mixed it up quite well, some decent passing football and some more direct passing

Thing about Buckley, is that lower division players could never play Buckleyball in the modern era and he has never seemed to realise this, hence his disappointing Mk. III era and failures at various other clubs. The players are now just too big, strong, quick and athletic and there just isn't the space available any longer. Look back at footage of the Buckley Mk. I era and you'll see some brilliant football but you'll also see vast amounts of space available. We played some good football at times in the Mk. II era, but you could see the way the game was going even then and we were never nearly as fluid.

At the top end, the best Spanish and German teams play some incredible stuff these days (even the Premiershite clubs, from time to time) with amazing pace and skill on show but the lower division players don't have the ability to do this though they are bigger, stronger, fitter and quicker than their counterparts 20 years ago. That's why it is more attritional these days.

That said, it would be nice to see us play a bit more football at times as it is easy to move too far towards a pragmatic style.

I really enjoyed the game.
Its the first time this season that you could see what the game plan was.
It didnt work every time but there was some good football at times.
Woolford is a proper footballer, he was my mom
Berretts best game for me.
Matt reminded me of Big Keith ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

I agree about the game plan, especially in the second half. The players were regularly looking to play the ball wide and get crosses in. Perfect for players like Matt and Vernon.

And perfect against a keeper that wasn't comfortable with crosses at all!

I've seen the highlights and have to say there is enough in those highlights that shows me we've made some sort of improvement from the last time I watched us (Stevenage away) I didn't see the 90mins but from the 10 I have seen I'm happy. Everyone looked comfortable on the ball and although alot of it was direct it wasn't just a pointless hoof up field it was more of a 'long pass into space or to the big man'

Sam Jones isn't bad either judging by his header at Orient last season.

Looking forward to a brighter future now Fenty has gone.
