Nice to read some good comments about the way we played, hate to admit but after watching the highlights both goals came from a long ball

Are most Goals Kicks usually long balls!

Matt was my MOM. Worked his nuts off (although tired towards the end) and is a big awkward handful who will bully defenders.

Also thought Mckeown did very well. Not convinced by him some days but did everything right last night,

The Wham Stadium made me yearn for the stadiums of non league.

I hope we stick with Matt and Jones for a run of games now give them a real chance of developing a partnership.

From a glance at the Sky highlights, a good run and excellent finish by Jones for the first and a very clever finish by Woolford for his goal.

It didn't look to me as though Collins was as disastrously out of position for their goal as the comments indicated, but Jackson should certainly have been picked up by somebody.

A bit harsh to say the goals came from long balls because there's a difference between an aimless whack upfield and a ball aimed at a player or into a dangerous space.

Pleased to hear that Jones played well as he's likely to be a key player this season and he hasn't started well before now and it sounds as though Matt may be the target man we've been looking for for ages now.

Jackson received the ball just inside the box where Collins should have been. It was a poor decision for him when running back, to go pressure the winger. Dixon was already engaging him so Collins should have ran back between Dixon and Clarke. I'm not going to be too critical of DC though as generally his positioning is excellent.

Have another look. When Jackson finishes, Collins is closer to the touchline than Dixon!!

According to their manager our game is based solely on the long ball.

Well if their game is based on Barcelona type passing football it didn't work did it? Away from home in difficult conditions, in league 2, you need to do what you have to do to win. We did!

Stanley played a mixture of getting the ball out wide but also tried the long ball over the top.

TBH exactly as we did
