If you were a blue and white hooped top and have a string of garlic bulbs around your neck they will think you are local and leave you alone.

Do not be tempted to wear a beret though, that is just an old stereotype and will easily identify you as faking it.

Been to Disneyland Paris a few times. Always stayed on site at a Disney hotel because of the free Disney transport on site, food can be expensive onsite, we've got a deal with breakfast included at the hotel and made sandwiches for the day from the breakfast selection. Never had any problems in any of the parks apart from no one seems to know what a que is apart from us Brits 😄

We did it by ferry/drive and also train all the way into resort. Would recommend the latter if you can get a deal - much, much easier.

I've driven from Calais to a campsite just north of Disneyland.  We had 1 toll and it wasn't cheap which doesn't help you!

I always take my own water and things in which they don't have a problem with.  We went in August a few years ago and queuing wasn't too bad.  You need a couple of days to do both sites though.

If its just the ferry deal without tickets then check out this website: https://www.attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk/   we booked through here and saved a small fortune.

That deal I've seen is ferry to France then coach to Paris. The hotel is sante fe hotel looks reasonable. You get tickets and shuttle buses to and from the parks included also. Might have to barter with them and try get some meals included if i can.

I wore a beret and ended up having to do a 12hr security patrol around the Élysée Palace armed with a baguette and some smelly cheese.

We went in June and stayed in a camp site around an hour away but going back in November and staying at Disneyland as it's much easier. £800 for family of 3 for 4 nights with 5 days in the park, character breakfast, half board meals and photopass for the full time. It's definitely worth looking into getting the meal plans included because eating there is fairly expensive.

For the ferry crossing I would recommend paying a little extra for the flexible ticket as it can be a lifesaver if you're early or late. French roads are fantastic, we found it easier to pay tolls by using a credit card as you don't have to fumble around for cash and our credit card charges are tiny. We got flashed by a speed camera on the way back but not heard anything yet so fingers crossed the DVLA haven't started sending out british driver details yet as per their agreement for this year

Having been to both, i do agree.

However you can get a holiday to Disneyland Paris for under £1000 for a family of 3.

Where as Florida is going to cost anywhere between £5000-£8000

We went years ago when the kids were younger.  It was like spending a day in hell (or Stevenage): long queues, officious staff, seriously over-priced and the 'attractions' were very ordinary at best.  You'd be better off spending your time in Paris, plenty to do there.

I took the grandkids there about 16 /  18  years ago and was not looking forward to it,

We stayed at a camp site about an hour away and I must admit,

Although they took me on rides that make me go upside down and around and around I enjoyed it,

The fast food at the diners was not always as hot as they should be,

Apart from that an enjoyable experience for a man in his 50's,

Don't think I would want to go in my 70's now though.

Went to Disneyland a few years ago and stayed in a hotel on site.

There were hardly any English people in it, but after breakfast the Disney characters were offering autographs to the children - so we stood with our daughter and duly obtained the auto's of Minnie Mouse, Pluto etc in her brand new autograph book. Became a bit surreal when I looked up and there was Paul Scholes with his little lad.
Could not pass up the opportunity (for my daughter  ) to get his autograph (which was written immaculately), at which I then apologised to him for blowing his cover - he said 'no problem' in his gruff Manchester accent. Didn't see him again.

Paul had virtually retired from the game at that point due to a degenerative eye condition, but at that time I did not realise that.

The following week, the big story was that Paul Scholes had been persuaded to make a comeback and he then went on to play for quite a few more years for Man U.

I always wondered if it was because he realised his eyesight had returned to normal in Disneyland.

If it's more for rides than the Disney characters Port Aventura / Ferrari Land in Spain is worth a visit.

We were there last year but Ferrari land wasn't open yet and that main ride looks very impressive even from a distance the wife wants to go back to salou again next year so may get a chance to try it out.

We went in May this year, even though the main park was rammed Ferrari Land was pretty quiet and managed to get on Red Force 5 or 6 times.  It was brilliant.

Been to Disneyland Paris a few times over the years

It is what it is in my opinion.... nowhere near as good as what you'll find over in Florida but more than acceptable if your own expectations aren't too great

The kids always had a great time and would have gone every year if they could

When all's said and done it's where its appeal is - with the kids and parents paying through the nose for it if you're not careful.... food in the park and the merchandise can soon empty your pockets

Which brings me to another footballer enjoying a day out there...

Back in about 2001/ 2002 just as we were coming out of the park at the end of the day, I overheard someone say to his kid who was pestering for more merchandise, " Sorry son but I'm all spent up "

I turned to my side and lo and behold there was Tony Adams pleading poverty!

I think it just about said it all if he couldn't afford any more for his lad....  what hope for us mere mortals?

He'd probably gambled it all away in the Mickey Mouse casino and betting emporium.
