That's a massive drop off in interest from our most loyal section of fans, season ticket holders. I'm a bit shocked.

Didn't we sell out before general sale last season?

I know Stevenage was a first time visit for everyone last season, but to drop from 1400 to 700, was a big drop.

It's a worrying trend, eating into one of the remaining reasons to be proud of GTFC, our away support..

Early kick off, police overkill, most boozers shut, awkward to get to on train, most of us done it to death lately spoils it a bit.
I'm driving to Gainsborough and getting an Eleven note return.

The way our fans are treated by the Police, stewards and clubs its no wonder the support is going down.

The way our team is playing, and the way our non-Chairman regards our views, it's no wonder the support is going down

How many tickets where we given? Realistically anytime we take over 500 is a good following. Average 4,000 at home means whenever we take 1,000 away fans it equates to 25% (1/4) of our home support which is fantastic for any club.

We sold over 2000 for a similar game just a few weeks ago....we are at the 1000 mark as it stands....i have been away on holiday and went down this morning more in hope of getting a ticket rather than expectation....was suprised thats all.

Yes early kick off, yes alot of fans crossed it off last year but i dont buy the police/ stewards as a reason for not going...makes us sound Lincoln ish....purely put it down to the product currently on offer which should be alarming for the club.

I don't understand why people would be put off by an early kick off an hour and a half away. It's not like Plymouth away kicking off at 1230 or something is it?

It kicked off early last season, never stopped people from going, the main reason for the poor ticket sales is the fact we look extremely poor this season, let's not make up excuses to hide behind the reality.

The level overall is good, but you've got to compare the Mansfield ticket sales (and it's early days yet) against other away days against clubs in the region (and previous season), not comparing us to other clubs. So your benchmarks are the away days against Lincoln, Chesterfield and Donny, and Mansfield last season of course. It might hot up when (if) they go on general sale because you will get more of the exiles with Mansfield being closer to the Midlands.

I honestly think the slow start to the season, team rebuilding etc has had a greater effect than policing or stewards

It was 1 for 1 for season ticket holders which makes it trickier for people going in groups and the next lot of tickets were only available to those who'd gone to the checkatrade game. I expect a bit of a boost now they're on general sale.

It shows that there's no need for a 1 for 1 allocation for sth

I'm not going to lie, I pencilled in 6 away games this year and I'm not reconsidering after being at Stevenage. £50 it'll cost me just for tickets, for someone in a bog standard paid job it's alot of money to watch excrement.. So at the moment I'm 50 / 50 about Newport away

I think you mean being told what to do!

I don't think you can castigate the stewards for following orders, although they should never have been given those instructions (if that's what happened)

Why does it make it hard for STH going in groups? All you do is give one of them the stub from each book and the can get them in one go. I'm a STH but don't expect to get the opportunity of an extra one

Attendances are purely down to results. In interest can the club/ Kristine confirm what special arrangements have been made for our fans, do I need to wear my new pink peek a boo bra or will the old M&S tent be ok.

Because if you want to go with a mate who not a season ticket holder you have to wait. Its makes it more difficult for some people and any time it's 1 for 1 the tickets sell miles slower.

I get that but why should "a mate" get a ticket ahead of a STH? If a club gives us 1800 tickets and there are just short of 3,000 STH running a 2 for 1 would mean it may happen.

So we can sell our allocation. As a season ticket holder I've never even struggled for an away ticket. Making it 1 for 1 means we sell less tickets.

The fat git always gets me in hysterics as the Town fans have mastered how to wind him up, especially when his team are losing. For all their money and I'd say hubris with regards to very open budgets etc, they are on the same number of points as our team of alleged journeymen. We could be three points ahead of them come 3 o clock next Saturday. Their squad is incredibly strong on paper and is probably still gelling like ours, lets hope it takes at least another week for them to get their act together!

Mansfield is only 1hr 30 away.

If it was a 3pm kick off, you could comfortably leave work at 12, have a shower and be on the road for 1....

Exactly, I can usually get away up to half an hour early so for 3pm games I can make those fairly local but I would struggle to make it on Saturday if I got away at 11:30. I often take mornings off for longer away games I go to but I only have so many holiday days and most of them are already used up this year plus as has been mentioned I usually like to go on the train if I can't sort a lift.

Also, I saw someone mention on Facebook that there is only 1 train that will get you there in time for kick off and leaves Grimsby at 6:28am.

I don't know if that has but any off but you can get both the 07:34 or 08:34 from Gy to Sheffield and change there to get there in time. The 07:34 would get you to Mansfield at 11:06 and the 08:34 at 12:06.

Mansfield is only 1hr 30 away.

If it was a 3pm kick off, you could comfortably leave work at 12, have a shower and be on the road for 1....

...and have the jumbo haddock and chips at Steele's, nip for a wee swally Under the Clock, visit a seedy massage parlour and read War and Peace - piece of p1ss!

In order to have room for a swally
Also out of respect (? for the 'masseur'
Could I suggest the visit to Steels be last on that list 😉

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'
