There is some misanthropic troll on here who has such a sad life that they have to red cross everything

Gutted as I won't be able to go due to work commitments, I know it sounds odd but it's a shame there isn't a "testimonial giving" site for exhales to contribute to.  Even if it went to Diz's nominated charity or something

Off work Tue & Wed so can have a few pints as well👍👍👍
Will be there for the ginger bloke ⚽⚽⚽⚽

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Wonder who we'll be playing. It's bound to make me sentimental/nostalgic - seeing players that I wish still played for us.

Hmmm.....31st October......  Nobody might already have plans that night may they ??

You never know, Slade could use it as a trial game to cast his eye over some midfield talent

Great to see that Disley is getting the game he deserved for his time with Town.

Will be interesting to see who will be in his XI...probably most of Shrewsbury's side!

Well John, have you got any dates together for my big night? Got loads of my mates gagging to play, should be a good game. Demand should be high looking at my Twitter account.

JF
Yes Dis, you've been a great servant to my club. We're really going to push the boat out and make sure you get the pay off you deserve, especially with the wages I paid you. You could hardly retire on that kind of money could you?

CD
What date have you got in mind then?

JF
Well, we got all of the greatest minds at the club on this, put a lot of thought in and can offer you an early kick-off on January 1st, say 10-30am?

CD
What about everyone staying in bed with hangovers from the night before?

JF
I don't understand.

CD
New Years Eve celebrations and all that the night before.

JF
Oh.. Is New Years Eve the night before? Didn't know that. We haven't got the budget for the 2018 calendars yet. Don't think we're going to bother next year anyway with all this player turnover. Half of this year's calendar is filled with ex-players.

CD
Can you think of another date that could be available?

JF
(Flicks through diary) Ah.. yes. December 25th. We never seem to play on this date for some reason.

CD
It's Xmas Day John. Time for family, opening presents. I don't think many will turn up, It's all about the grown ups spending time with the kids. Same day every year, it's tradition and all that. Don't want to be pushy, but it's my big night, could we go for another date? Sorry to be a pain.

JF
(Irritated, flicks through diary once again) Ok Dis, final option from me, I'm a busy man. How about October 31st?

McKeown was a virtual ever present so whichever keeper you choose (Arthur, Croudson, Warrington or Henderson) would be undeserved.

Manager would have to be Bignot but selecting the worst team is hard because most of the teams Disley played in were up there.

I just wonder how many will be allowed to by their current clubs

Kenny Arthur has the best kick on him of any town keeper I've ever seen . He launched a back pass the length of the pitch at Woking into their keeper who was stood on his peno spot

Wasn't Dis good friends with Hearn while he was at the club? Imagine he might be involved somehow.

I couldn't think of any really bad 11-17 centre backs? Well, maybe Parslow, but he only played there twice and he's in centre mid for a rare starting role.

As for Arthur, James is right. I suppose I could pick Hedge or Fleming, but I can't actually remember them. Warrington would probably have been a better choice though.

Fleming for me, he was dire.

I agree that there aren't many bad centre halves out there during the Shorty and Shouty era. Even Watt and Kempson weren't terrible! I suppose Dis played in the same side as Gunning!

Disley indicated on Radio HullHumberside last night that he was picking his team largely from the teams that played against Bristol Rovers & FGR @ Wembley.

He said only Richard Tait to date had been a definate no but waiting to hear from those that are still playing if they could get permission to be released.
Nobbling Amond, Palmer and any other future opponents that dare to turn out might not be a bad idea
