In the light of revelations of serious historic sexual abuse in the game, the FA purports to take the matter of safeguarding extremely seriously. There is no doubt in my view that, legally speaking, sexual assaults have taken place in this situation. I'm sure that the Club will insist that any investigation by the EFL is handled as a safeguarding rather than a stewarding matter. This would ensure that a thorough investigation is carried out and documented and that it is absolutely impossible for a bland brush-off reply to be given. The Hertfordshire FA themselves claim to have a robust safeguarding policy. I don't see why this should be allowed to go away, frankly. Football is supposed to be a family game, and both the FA and individual clubs actively encourage families and females to support their club.

Good points. I'm not at all brushed up on the rights and powers of Stewards but they've grossly overstepped the mark of their authority here.

Perhaps this may help RoboCod, taken from the Lincoln vital website.
