Didn't go myself but regarding the stewards, sounded a bit OTT to me from this GET article...

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

But do it properly.

If they are asking the question, they are obviously aware of a problem.

Calling them a bunch of over eager @&£&"@'s will achieve nothing. State your case and back it up with facts. Insist on a reply or at least acknowledgement of your complaint.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

I am sorry to say because we have  one or two idiots that go to away games the other well behaved thousands at some games get treated like dirt even they have only gone to watch a game of football.

It is not only certain stewards but also the police who change kick off times and treat all fans like criminals,

I have been attended Grimsby Town games home and away for over 62 years and can count on one hand when a town fan started any trouble,

Please ask John Fenty if this is true or not because he always travels to away games.

Hows that ?

I'll be submitting my observations and will try to be as objective as possible.

The basis of the operation seems to be that Hertfordshire Police ordered Stevenage to adopt a confrontational approach because of the issue in January with late arrivals into the ground and people not in their allotted seats.  The Chief Steward told me he wanted to have the stewards sat on the grass on stools and to be hands-off, but was overruled by the Police.

Given that there were 400 fewer people coming this time, that fans were advised to arrive early and that there were twice as many turnstiles open as in January, it seems like the Police insistence on confrontation was misplaced and ill-judged.

As Hackney Haddock quotes above, the police were confrontational, I think you will find that 99% of the time this is how he police treat football fans, they see a football fan and click into an aggressive,do as I say attitude, and when the fan does not comply within 0.01 of a second then they are treated as a right proper holigan.

Police can't order stewards to do anything including where to stand, they are under direct control of the safety officer.  I didn't see police get involved in anything but if they did in this way please let me know so I can speak to their DFO about it.

I would also suggest that any fan that has any observations from yesterday should email Stevenage directly but also cc in supporters@gtfc.co.uk and amanda.jacks@fsf.org,uk

I'd like to ask them why they have a better team than us with much smaller gates and a rookie manager.

Because their chairman keeps pumping money in and they get good revenue from hosting Spurs U21 fixtures

When did it become a crime to watch football. As a law abiding citizen I have never been treat so poorly as I do when I watch Town away.

There needs to be some sort of national body and code of conduct that applies to the stewarding of football fans.
