I have been living in US for a number of years and looking to visit UK for a week in September including a visit to Blundell Park!

Any advice on booking train travel (best website to use etc.) from Manchester Airport to York, York to Cleethorpes and Cleethorpes to Manchester Airport would be greatly appreciated.

I use Trainline and never had a problem using them, always had a good service.

I can't understand why anyone uses Trainline to be  honest because of their charges. A far better site to buy tickets from is https://www.tpexpress.co.uk/ who don't charge anything apart from the cost of the tickets, No booking fee, no credit card fee and it's even free postage.

Edit. Just seen Vance's post.

I do the return trip Grimsby to York a few times a year and it's often cheaper to book singles Grimsby to Doncaster and then Doncaster to York, so that's worth looking at too.
