Posted on behalf of Andrew Nicholl's and family:

On Saturday, at the Coventry match, during the 55th minute a picture of Peter Nichollls (my Dad) will be displayed on the scoreboard. During this minute, we will be holding a minutes applause to celebrate Peter's life as last week he unexpectedly passed away. Peter was a big Grimsby Town fan, following them home and away for over 40 years. It would be greatly appreciated if everyone could pass on this message and join in this minutes applause.

Many thanks guys

Sorry to hear another mariner has pass away, my heart goes to the family of Peter at this difficult time for them.

Guide the mighty mariners to 3 points from the heaven above.

Rest in peace Peter

Don't think it's Kristines Pete. (posted on behalf of) .

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Just read the GT article. 55 = far too soon.

RIP Pete.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

I remember this guy at all the away matches I went to growing up.  Will be giving a huge round of applause for a fellow great Town Fan.

The GTFC family did him proud today. Magnificent minutes applause. Well done everyone...

Agreed Barra

It looked like the Coventry fans joined in with the applause too, so credit where it's due

As people have already said 55 is no age at all…makes the older ones amongst us consider our own mortality

Anyway glad I was able to pay my respects with everyone else at BP and hope that the applause gave a little bit of comfort to the family.

My condolences to them & RIP Peter

Nice touch from the Cov fans joining in.  Including the 3 that were sat next to me in the upper Findus who, as an aside, were raving about Dembele
