I don't think any manager goes out with the intention of signing "passengers" but I do think that RS has probably placed a greater premium on fitness and tactical discipline.  He's managed higher up the pyramid and in tough club situations, so has a definite idea of how he wants to approach each game.

Collins, similarly, well let's look at who his managers have been throughout his career:  Warnock, Pulis, Roy Keane, O'Driscoll, Allardyce.  All of them taskmasters and organisers.  I think it's reasonable to think that DC is on the same wavelength as RS and will be Slade's representative on Earth out on the pitch during games as captain.
