So people have to support a player blindly regardless of how good they are?

If they turn out for GTFC, I'll support whoever it is, Serge Makofo or Clive Mendonca, Tommy Forecast or Matt Tees.

The point is, just because he said he doesn't think he played well or thinks we have better players, it does not mean he won't give his support to berrett on a match day.

Well yeah he is? He called him anonymous- the guy got clattered within the first 20 and up to that point had done okay. Hardly fair to give a review on a player playing 20 minutes

Too slow-easily gets bundled off the ball-likes his 10 yards sideways passes-easily gets caught in possessions-predictable. Reminds me of the same type of player as we had on loan a couple of seasons ago Robinson -. Doesn't bring anything to the team- we have better. But if Slade picks him I'll still cheer him on.

Reminds me of the player we had a few more seasons ago (Stacy Coldicott) that everyone slagged off yet we missed him like crazy when he left...

I was absolutely not making a scalegoat of berrett. I can see why slade would like him, he's played at a higher level, pretty athletic, never been one for injuries, decent passer and chips in with goals and I absolutely want him to do well. However, against a good midfield yesterday he was anonymous albeit for his 20/30 minutes he was on.

My post wasn't about who I like blah blah, it's based on what I saw against a decent league one team.

For the record, I like mills, jones however they didn't impress me as much as others yesterday and I gave a 5. I wanted cardwell to come on and do well but in his 15/20 minutes he didn't do that. I wasn't exactly jumping with joy when Mitch rose signed but I was impressed with him yesterday and can see exactly why he was signed now.

I was quite simply giving my honest opinion of what I saw yesterday. I always support the players and any criticisms I give on her are constructed

For those of us even older, he reminds me of Bobby Mitchell and Jim Dobbin.

Think time has dimmed your memory, I think he is crap but football is all about opinion & i respect yours. As others have said does not mean I will not support him during the game but absolutely mystified as to how highly Sladey seems to rate him.

To be fair Berrett is a totally different sort of player to those (&  Coldicott) who were much more defensive, holding midfielder type players.

I will never forget Bobby Mitchell , he always played the ball a few yards sideways or back,

Never scored many goals but he did get a 30 yard screamer away to Bolton,

AND

I bloody missed it when I went for a pee.

Only a kid at the time but I remember Mitchell used to give the ball away a lot.
