Any news on these two. Kamal has been pictured on the tour of Devon but no signs of these two.

Thought both looked decent and Slade sounded happy with the left back so far.

Slade said he wanted another look at a few of the trialists in his last interview so we'll have to wait and see

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

Dixon (or more specifically, his agent) wants too much money.

I'd seriously look elsewhere if his wage demands are too high. He looked ok to me but certainly not worth breaking the bank for.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

Break the bank for a 30 year old left back no thanks. If he was Conor Townsend then yes, but someone who spent last year in Scot championship LOLZ!

It's the easiest thing in the world to say 'according to my source'.

At what point does random speculation on the Fishy become a 'source'?

Sources mean nothing. Even people close to the club - maybe even those who work there - don't always know what's about to happen.

In the absence of any real news, fans will speculate. But that's all it is. Even so-called sources are speculating. May as well say 'I'm speculating' rather than ever talking about sources.

Sky have been getting away with saying 'sources' for years. It's very loose. If you read the BBC, they always give general info on their sources ('according to a report', 'according to witnesses' etc).

Yeah it annoys me when Jim White says it, when we all know he means some balderdash rumour page on twitter.

I would agree with the sceptism on most occasions but I suspect TOC is not the type of poster to say that kind of thing without something behind it. If he knows someone and has been told in confidence then he is never going to name that source, and rightly so.

Thanks Posh Harry, you are spot on, I thought it was information that warranted sharing but I would not want to reveal where it came from f

Not necessarily. I hear stuff from time to time and sometimes i choose to share it and sometimes not, but i wouldn't say who i heard it from as naming specific people on a public forum is bad form. For instance, i heard on the Friday before the Blackpool game that Bignot was on his way out and Slade was coming back. I chose not to say anything because i couldn't be sure it was 100% true and quite frankly, i didn't want to be called out  on my "source" and all the sh1te that goes with it, especially if it turned out not to be true.

While i accept that there are people who want to look like they are in the know, there are some people who do get to hear credible rumours from time to time. Sometimes they choose to keep it to themselves and sometimes they choose to share it while keeping the source to themselves. Not everyone is an attention seeking bullsh1tter and i tend to think Old codger is in that category.

Thanks for what seems like a vote of confidence Ginny. Like you, I hear stuff from time to time and there's stuff that I hear that could be open to further speculation that I prefer not to share. In this case, the question was asked regarding Dixon, I had some information that was relevant so I shared it. Out of respect to the few people who I get information from, I think it's right to only disclose stuff that may prevent further conjecture which, in this case, I think it does.

I too heard on the day of the Blackpool game he was on his way and you only had to see his body language on the day to know something was going on,but did not post as thought it was outlandish speculation.
