Maybe they want better than a 'steady L2 fullback' rancido? Isn't that a bit obvious?! Hence - trying to tap up Liverpool for Hart.

I would rather start with a " steady L2 left back" than no left back at all! Fans on this sight have complained for seasons how we start the league programme with some players who haven't had a full pre-season to get them up to speed for the first game. Time is running out and maybe RS can pull "a rabbit out of the hat" to fill the left back position , we will have to see.

You might at least pretend to be open minded about Slade mate.

Personally, I'd say going for steady squad fillers is a recipe for mediocrity. We've had enough of that. I hope they set a high standard throughout. Slade is lumbered with too many average players on another year as it is.

Sorry - looking at our squad, it's full of mediocre players. We've already shipped 7 goals against small-fry opposition, we've no left back and umpteen average central midfielders - the squad looks bargain basement not 'hairs on the back of your neck'.

Haha! No doubt Dembele looks a positive but we're clearly struggling to attract the sort of players that will replace Bogle and Andrew who were our stand-out performers last season.
