GTFC leading goalscorers (post WW2)

So there I was, wondering (like you do) whether Matt Tees had scored twice as many goals for Town as Clive Mendonca.
Couldn't find a list of leading postwar GTFC goalscorers on the internet.*
Anyone know where there is one?

Pat Glover scored a few  

Sadly I think the days of a player staying at this club long term and scoring the amount of goals that Pat Glover or even Clive Mendonca did are long gone.

That's right Jim, look at Bogle  any player scoring 20+ in a season and we will sell him.

The article is post WW2. Unfortunately Pat Glover was pre WW2.

Naturally.

Funny, when you look back at the records of some legends, the stats are not always impressive. Matt Tees was my 60s/70s hero but Matt didn't rattle 'em in like Ron. Neither did Kev Drinkell or even Clive M. For that matter.

The most impressive over a season or two were people like Tommy Briggs, Billy Cairns and Bob Crosby who were playing when we didn't have super sides but still scored bagsfull.

As a goals per game striker the best I can personally remember was Ralph Hunt who got 30+ in 40 games in 1960. Sadly he got a bad knee injury and was never the same player, went to Chesterfield and died young in a car crash. He was a big bruiser though and a deadly left foot. Him and Ron were a super combo that year.

Great side that, the team i still harp on about because it was the side i grew up watching. Rafferty, Hunt, Johnny Scott ,Keith Jobling, Ron Cockerill, Don Donovan, Jimmy Fell, Cliff Portwood etc, Tim Ward was manager then. Great memories.
