Hurst rested him and he did come back stronger culminating in THAT goal at Wembley. As he laid sobbing on the pitch after scoring the last goal at the death to seal a return into the league the personal significance of that moment was clear for all to see.

Of course he should get nothing but an ovation when he comes back.
