Armed Forces Weekend

Just seen the Hurricane and Spitfire

The seafront is packed and to keep it football related I've seen a fair few Town tops, many worn by young lads ( the future ).

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

The firework display tonight with the music was awesome at the remembrance gate.

Can't beat the noise.  It's a rare piece of music that has such an emotional tug.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Thought the day was a bore I know it was never going to be as good as last year but for most of the afternoon there was little to see or do, and when the planes finally arrived it was over quicker than a Sunday morning dump. We had thousands of visitors that had come down especially for the day and they  must of been thinking what a waste of time, whoever was responsible for the planning needs putting on the bins with the agreement they never ask for a promotion ever again.

Have to say the fireworks nearly made up for the day with a really good display although even that wasn't as straightforward as it should of been, it was advertised as a 10pm start but they couldn't even get that right bearing in mind there were hundreds of young kids that had been allowed to stay up way past there bedtime (including my own) and waiting patiently with nothing else to do all evening.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Promise a man someone else's fish and he votes Labour.

I agree it was never going to be as good as it wasn't classed an airshow.

I wonder if those thinking it was a waste of time, complained and got their 'Free Event' money back.
