Seen a few posts worrying about our defence and whilst clean sheets are good it`s goals that win games. I think we will almost certainly be going more direct and width and pace will be vital at the top end of the pitch for it to work best. The defence will need to be tight and I don't expect to see much in terms of overlapping fullbacks I see it being more a traditional back four unit.

We'll if the rumours are true about the strikers, it's unlikely we'll be starting with a big unit up there, so I doubt we'll be too direct. I've actually wondered if Slades considered a 4231, as dembele said he preferred that formation, and from what they were saying about Kelly's potential positions, it sounds like he suits it too.

I'm led to believe that a clean sheet requires fewer goals to win a game.

Defence wins championships as the cliche goes. And you only need to score 1 to win with a clean sheet

I thought Dembele and Kelly were out and out wingers? You'd have thought more favoured to a 4-4-2?

I see Rickie Lambert is available and that`s a player I have long admired even at 35 he would be a great signing if he would drop back down to this level and would score us plenty.

No, think he's semi retired now due to injury issues. Don't think his body can handle the full time game anymore.
