That's a new one, not heard it for at least a day or so. We aren't Boston or Scunthorpe!

Take it as a compliment.  It means I am running out of ideas. Your crowds look good, your squad is starting to look good, you have a manager that didn't have to pay to get the job and I will be very surprised and disappointed if you don't actually sell your full allocation for our place.

I suggest you print this and frame it. I hope never to have to type such a thing again. !!!  UTM

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

That's not quite true though is it? Vitals has hundreds of posters, everyone that clicks or posts raises money for the club. The biggest and more busier MB is the Lincoln City Banter board that has over 12,600 and counting members.

Sorry Impish, bang on all you want about impressive ticket sales but Vitals is a shite, shite board with mostly new posters coming out of the woodwork along with their season ticket purchases. The Fishy has always stayed massively popular, never bans people for minor banter (Vitals Big Girls Blouse admins) and is incredibly welcoming to opposing fans who wish to chew the fat on general football, including Lincoln. Vitals is none of those things, with decent fair minded posters counted in single figures.
Clicks,clicks....Money really seems an obsession with Lincoln fans.

I haven't said a word about ST sales?

As for Vitals, it's a bit old school but does welcome fans of other teams to be fair. They don't get that many new posters. LCB is much more manic and more populated with some of the recent fans, its constantly busy. I used to post on here before so not sure if any of you remember my challenge that Lincoln would do better than Grimsby when we both met for the first time in the conference? Learned my lesson on that one

Can't see that money is an obsession with Lincoln fans, we probably have certain views on the FGR and Eastleighs of this world (and Mansfield now) like most but we don't normally have any, that's a nice change for the next few seasons at least.

Btw I am not Impish on One Football Forum.

Lincoln vital is only just behind the iron bru for most insular less than 10 active members message board out there and that includes several members with multiple login's.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Jesus’ disciple Peter, picked up a fish to get the tribute money from it, Jesus left his thumb print on the fish, bless'ed is the Haddock.

Certain posters on Vitals are always going on about us spending loads of money saying Fenty was spending "big money" which is total boll0cks. The fact is we had a bit more money to spend because our fans didn't abandon the club to the same extent your fans did and we generally spent the money we did have better than you did. That is until you finally got your act together and got a very good management pair and rightfully gained your place back in the FL.

Looking forward to a brighter future now Fenty has gone.

A thread on here that mentions Lincoln on 2 posts or more=obsession on Vitals.Talk of crowds pre-2016 was 'Massive' Grimsby, now we have talk of Lincoln being No 1 club Lin Lincs on the back of ticket sales for one season, and threads comparing attendances to Gy and Scunny. Just very tiresome.
I know a couple of Lincoln fans, one's an idiot and not worth attempting to talk to, the other is a bit fairer and will consider other non-Lincoln points of view. However they are both very scornful of Vitals and avoid it as they think it's a poor representation of Lincoln fans.
It's all money-money on Vitals, from the 'Keep Clicking!' prompts to a warped version of how Fenty poured a Billion pounds into Town to get us back in the League. Not too accurate, given how far we fell from before Fenty was even on board.
Even our superb Operation Promotion was played down on there, apparently it was all share issues and just a few quid actually put in by fans...the truth is so incredibly mangled and bent to make pleasant, diluted reading for the fans on there it almost reads like a parody of a football forum. Weird, weird bunch.

You and Helgy are ok though

I think there could have been more incentives such as buy and adult ticket for the Main and get a big discount off a kids ticket etc....but put yourself where the club is would you rather sell say 2300 at full price or 2800 at a discount and possibly gross less money when "if" we start to do well people will buy full price tickets on a weekly basis.

Long term I would rather the club take a hit and know they're doing something to introduce a new generation of fans.

If the club did an Adult Ticket with a relatively discounted season-ticket for kids I would buy one with the simple intention of taking along my nephew and/or niece to a selection of games to bring them into the GTFC fold.  If they like it, great then they're a step closer to being hooked.  If they don't like it, I've lost £30, £40  etc.  The club have gained a small portion of money they wouldn't have ever had and we all forget it about pretty quickly.

As a season ticket holder I'm far less likely to pop up to the ticket office midweek at any point during the year to buy them a ticket for a game they might not enjoy.  The point is when I'm going into the ticket office and shelling out £300+ on a season ticket, the discounted childs ticket feels like great value.  The as and when ticket doesn't quite feel anywhere near that level of value.

That's me for my nephew and niece.  How many parents of young children do we have who follow Town and would love the chance to bring their kids along to games.  Hell, how many parents would love to go to watch Town on a weekend but they can't because £7 on the gate (not everyone has the luxury of getting an early bird ticket) feels like crap value/they can't afford it?  How many of those parents are then staying at home themselves to look after said child/children.

It's simply pure sighted from the club, again.

Last season was drab and damp.  All the feel good factor from the previous summer was wiped out by a stop-start campaign, selling of the top scorer, a (in hindsight) poor appointment in Bignot and then ultimately the departure of fan favourites at the end.   Take away the hardcore who will go regardless and who is really going to be excited about the new season?    None of our signings are, as of yet, ones that will put bums on seats.  If you were an occasional fan, would you be tempted to buy a season ticket?

12-14 months ago the club missed a huge opportunity to tap into that feel good factor and they badly wasted it.  We failed to shift more than 3,000 season tickets after the most emotional and simply brilliant afternoon of football I've ever witnessed, in front of 12-13,000 people cheering Town on.  Despite that we managed to only shift a a couple of hundred extra season tickets from the previous year.  How the intercourse is that possible?

This year was crying out for something to entice people not only to the club but also to retain those exisiting season ticket holders.  Again the club failed.  No price rise but it'll go up next year.  Wow, what a promotion that is!

We can dress it up as many ways as we like, unfortunately it still points to the fact that GTFC are urine poor when it comes to shifting season tickets.  As mentioned earlier this area has thousands of shift workers, even if 1% of those benefit from a season ticket that caters to their work pattern it's worth it.  If 1% of the single parents in the area benefit from a season ticket that caters to their circumstances, it's worth it.  If 1% of the kids in this area who would never get taken to a game because it's too expensive end up going because Mum/Dad drags them along then it'll be worth it.

Would it be easy to introduce schemes like this?  Probably not.  But that's not an excuse to do absolutely nothing about it.  If it's not sheer laziness then what is it?
