I haven't renewed by Tate membership yet.  F****** disgraceful.  They need to pull their fingers out and announce Dali or Braque are coming.

GTFC-85 is clearly a Lincoln WUM.
Our season tickets have just gone on sale , yes we will not sell as many but they are on the crest of a wave . Remember when we were both doing shite only one of us still got the crowds and sold out the away end time after time. Normal service will shortly be resumed.

To be honest I just don't get why the club have made a big song and dance about smashing through a £100k barrier selling a paltry 450 season tickets. I question their judgement on why they did it. My first impression was.. that's a bit tinpot.  My opinion hasn't changed after a few days. Were they hoping throwing a figure round like £100k was going to impress us? The message was smashing through £30k on the first day of sales too. What's going on in their heads? These are not impressive figures to make a song and dance about. If I were them I'd start coming up with better than just a ridiculously poor pinned tweet of an oversized image of RS looking like Big Al from Stella.

We may not be the richest club in the world, but effort and inventiveness costs nothing. On the odd occasion the club have come up with surprisingly good pieces of PR. They can do it. After over 100 years in existence, the promotion of season ticket sales should not be an issue and definitely not a thread on this forum. The same people have been at the helm of this football club for a good while so the marketing of season ticket sales should be a well-oiled machine by now, not a point of discussion or ridicule..

Must be cracking up.  I'm talking to myself now !!

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Why blame the club? The club doesn't sign players , the manager does. It's almost as if you are saying that the Board tell the manager not to sign any players until they think it's the right time to do so. I don't think there is any evidence that JF or the board have actually prevented the manager from signing a player in this pre-season. It's up to RS to identify and then sign players ( obviously within the restraints of his budget ) . In this instance the buck stops at RS!
?

I agree that it could be Slades fault { I am not a big fan of his anyway]He is part of the management now and if the limits he has been set are not enough he should be on JF's back for more. If GTFC are to progress they have to sign decent players, even if it means spending some of the Bogle money-surely there is some left   When I say GTFC I mean from the owner down including R.S.  There is something wrong somewhere

Peterboro chairmans views and probably why we and most other teams haven't signed loads of players so far. Mansfield must be paying crazy wages.

"A little perspective from me on the 'market' at moment re footballers. Its been a fascinating May so far talking to the many free transfers, many Transfer targets that would need fee paid for them, many agents of players from below and above possibly available.. And ones thing thats for sure is the sudden shift in L1 wage expectations. Some Players from Non League now turning their nose up whereby not so long ago they would walk on hot coals to sign & be sensible about terms built with incentives & improved Basic wage for the step up.. Now some dont even return calls or agents think they can go higher... and their demands way above even the average L1 basic wage for lads who've never played in the Football League. Many are on less then 1k per week and the opening gambit now from agents is contracts worth 3 times this lol..
Re league players who have are out of contract/released its even worse with now wage demands getting out of hand/control for players who have not done anything yet in game/would be deemed as a Punt, many under age of 24 (so plenty time to make their fortunes).
Prem Youngsters released/not wanted by prem clubs where they are on 600 or 700 quid per week now instantly expecting/demanding 2.5k per week deals and more having yet played 50 games of mens football.. But then again this is May with hundreds of footballers about to be released, June onwards should/will see some common sense/reality set in for lots of them and their demands. Right now its fun and games and many funny conversations with agents... the tide soon turns... has to turn or our game at our level will see many casualties going forward if some clubs keep falling for these ridiculous demands. A good football club with good recruitment plan is based on signing the right characters who want success/growth/improvement & understand that the big money comes after and not before... 'Ambition over Greed' is our mantra & something we went away from last year but something we will stand firm on this year with our young and hungry policy. We have plenty experienced players but lot of talented young players including ones we will recruit this summer and with this our one and only aim is to grow into winners on and off the field.

The Boyds, McLeans, CMS'S, Tomlins, Taylors, Bennetts, Gayles, Britts & Washingtons epitomized our mantra & didn't worry about over top contracts until they had brought success to our club and themselves.. and regardless of current climate, trust me when I say, there are plenty more of the above characters out there.. and its our Job to find them/sign them/improve them.

Just me perspective

Thanks
Darragh"

Sorry but the marketing is and always has been dogsh1t and without a shadow of a doubt GTFC take the support for granted. A ground with a home capacity so small could easily have been sold out every game last season but from the minute the final whistle went and we had gained Promotion NOTHING.

I don't usually comment or comment plain but every close season I frantically go on the OS to find anything juice and 99 times out of 100 I find nothing    don't want to sound like I'm complaining but we should be doing something to keep fans like myself engaged. It's nice to have the weekly update from Russ but we need more, just small things would be a start. I'm not expecting signings every day
