I have been a member of the fishy for well over seven years now and find it a great forum with some brilliant debates at times, there can't be many football forums as good as this one, there are some great knowledgable posters on here as well as some characters too.

So how long have you been using the fishy for and what's your views on it?

Around 5 years.Great site and well maintained although I feel the rep and plus and negative scores for posts should go.Should just have a feature where you can like a post and thats it and not make it cumulative

Good on you Rob though  for creating this site for fans of this great little club

Joined in March 6, 2008 after leaving GTFC Official website, I felt it was too restrictive and it was a fellow fishy member who said I should join.  There's been good and bad times on here but the large number of posters with different view makes this one of the best boards around, well done Rob.


Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Jesus’ disciple Peter, picked up a fish to get the tribute money from it, Jesus left his thumb print on the fish, bless'ed is the Haddock.

Pretty much since the last millennium if you count the Electronic Fishcake bar the odd lapse in registration when the board was not shut down by a club benefactor.

The Electronic Fishcake was pretty much like the Wild West by comparison with this.

Too bloody long is the answer.  

I was on the original GTFC e-mail list (originally organised by Billo, I think?) back in the days before forums existed. Ah, the sound of dial-up modems squeaking and squawking away and costing a flipping fortune as the 14.4Kb connection finally kicked in.

Kids today wouldn't believe how primitive the early years of the web were in comparison to today!

Although I guess that's when I registered on 'The New Fishy'. I mostly browsed the version that existed before that, but rarely posted as I hated the way posts appeared 'threaded' rather than in the message board format we have now. Spent most of the 2000s posting on Grim Outlook (it's hayday) instead.

Started with the Electronic Fishcake as "TeesinYork", showing my age.

I was more as as a lurker than a poster.  Probably because I did not have a computer at the time.  I had to use a keyboard linked to software on a TV.  This was very slow and prone to error.  If I was commenting on a mid-season game, by the time I posted it would be the close-season.

There was a forum on the old grimsby.org site but hardly anyone used it. We then moved to Rivals where the forum really kicked off, there was a brief period when Sky took over Rivals but I hated the look of site so went independent again. Which by and large has continued until the present day. The emphasis has gradually shifted almost totally to the site being a forum.

December 2008, which surprises me. Doesn't seem like almost 9 years- time flies.

It's a great site and the only one i visit every day. My usage has increased since i semi retired, so i apologise for that.
