Who is the fastest player in the last 30 years? I seem to remember Tony Rees did pretty good in some sort of race between clubs.

I guess there is 2 types of quick tbh, there is acceleration over the first 10 yards to get away or top end quick. Reddy was more top end i reckon.

I recall Gary Jones being quick off the mark but very slow overall.

Gary Cohen was quick, Reddy was rapid in full swing, as was Bore but both needed a few yards to get going. I would say the most explosive pace I remember is Boulding.

Didn't Murray Jones get entered for the Saint & Greavesy 100m challenge as a late replacement for Macca. Give him another week or so and he might just about be crossing the line

From players I remember has to be Reddy or Tony Ford when in possesion even if they were a bit kick and chase.

Controversial, but genuine, wasn't Danny North supposed to be the quickest in training sprints ?
Or did I dream I read that ??

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Bore seemed the most graceful in full flight to me, seemed to skim over the surface. used to love watching him when he was in the mood. Such a waste. cant even get into the Cleethorpes squad by all accounts.

Agree with Reddy, and Tony Ford seemed quick to me when I first started following Town, bit of Fordy's speed in this clip -

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

A friend of the family was in the same year as Tony Ford but at a rival school and apparently, Ford rocked up at a GY schools athletics meet in the 70s and ran the 400m in plimsols, beating all the other lads in their spikes by a country mile.

I think Boulding was quicker than Reddy, though they both had rather individual running styles, I agree that Bore looked a real thoroughbred when in full flight. I'm sure according to Macca in his book he was pretty rapid in his earlier days but if Livvo was his benchmark that might not be saying much!

If we're talking sheer explosive pace, Jon-Paul Pittman must be up there.  It's just a shame every time he burst into a sprint you worried his hamstring was going to snap.  The shout on Marcel Cas is probably a good one as he was simply rapid.

Pace whilst having the ball under control, no contest.  Michael  Reddy.  That six month spell in 2005/06 he was playing at least two levels below his natural ability and he was fighting fit, just unplayable.
