I'm not writing him off, just making initial comments like everyone does. On paper, does not seem good enough to get us out of this league

If he's that good and helped Newport turn things around then why have they released him would be my arguement

Could be many reasons, he had a short term deal there probably until the end of the season so maybe he wanted too much money to stay or something like a longer contract and they just decided to let him go. Maybe he didn't want to stay because he had other offers on the table. While this signing isn't a thrilling coup or anything he seems like the kind of player we want to have in somebody who has a lot of energy and gets around the pitch.

Good signing on paper for me.  Box-to-box midfielder, hopefully a good replacement for Craig Disley, he's only 22 and got plenty of time to improve as well.

If he's based around here, and was playing all the way over in Newport, maybe he was never interested in staying and was always going to look for something closer to home?

Sounds to me like a young player who went to Newport to put himself in the shop window... and did

Assume he will be in the middle of a 3 man midfield then.

Welcome Mitch.

Have we had a Mitch play for us before?
