I like the sound of this guy, our midfield looks pretty strong really.  I'm a fan of Osbourne and Clements, and Sam Jones is effectively a midfielder too.  I haver to say that our midfield hasn't impressed me in many years, so sounds like we might be quite strong there from now on.  That was one feature of Slade's last stint, Bolland, Kalaka and Woodhouse were all good players.

Big hopes for Clifton still.  Venney looks like he might struggle to get a contract though, being just "invited back to pre-season".  I'd imagine he'll look elsewhere in the meantime.

Works both ways, some unhappy and not impressed some very happy without ever seeing him play.

No one knows until they have seen him play for us how good or bad he will be.

Hmm  your facts are a bit squiffed, he was signed short term like Gunning as a fill in for the regular player who was injured, once Labadie was fit he wasn't going to play any more and did not.





He started 12 games out of 20 and had a 5 match ban.

Exactly this.

I don't know why people can't just wait till August and see what he's like when he's playing for GTFC.

Why do we need to form an opinion immediately based on what other people have said or some stats that may or may not tell the whole story?

Not much positive there, let's hope they are wrong.

I don't think most have problems with the specific player more the area of recruitment given that we are clearly overloaded in that position and people are already speculating that the budget is tight and we need a small but quality focused squad.  

I think we are desperate for some movements out now but is there any incentive for Summerfield, Berret or McAllister to move on, or will they just sit and collect their wages?

Not sure why people cant just say welcome aboard instead of scrutinising his career or lambasting him because he came from a team near the bottom of the league.  I think its obvious that some of the midfielders wont get a look in and will inevitably leave but Rose looks from what ive seen as a positive signing.  Energetic loves to tackle and can score goals.
