Got your rose coloured specs on?

Why are you so quick to judge a player before he has even kicked a ball for us?

Not good enough for Mansfield..... Released by nearly relegated Newport...

Signs for Town on a 2 year deal

Seems he did well for Mansfield in 15/16 and only left because the Stags started splashing the cash for players from higher leagues.

As someone else pointed out, his time at Newport coincided with them turning things around.

He sounds like an industrious type of player, and athletic. Should complement Osborne and Clements well, given that they have a bit more quality on the ball (and part of MB's 'technical' legacy).

I can understand Slade's thinking here.

Welcome aboard, Mitch!

Made 52 appearances in 18 months at Mansfield and 12 for Newport in the last half of last season.

So at 22 he's been played quite a lot, considering a lot of players at that age nowadays have only a handful of competitive games.

To me that would suggest he's got something about him at least.

Welcome aboard. Look forward to seeing him in action. If anything we've been screaming out for in the past decade or so is a strong box to box midfielder. Echo the voice of others in that he must have something about him to have played that many games at 22.

In his interview on the MP ;

Hails from Doncaster and jumped at the chance to come closer to home to what he considers an ambitious club with a great fan base.
Knows Sam Jones very well outside of football as well as Yussuf and Clements within football. Hopefully should help him settle in quickly.
Box to box.

Not entirely sure of circumstances. But just being released doesn't mean you're automatically "not good enough".

To say he played for a nearly relegated side, whilst is accurate on first glance, it is not entirely the full story is it. Newport from the turn of January/February were not a relegation team. They clawed their way back out..... He signed in January.

Give the lad a chance he signed less than a bloody hour ago.
