That's tough Andy. £40k is about how much your average premier player pays for a watch.

That's a real pain in the backside Andy. Must be very disappointing. Someone 'in charge' of the club must know the rules though. Makes our omission to re-apply for a licence some years back seem a minor oversight.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Don't really want to see Slade back here purely because of the bad blood he left behind but having said that it is not up to us it is up to Fenty and the board.

Grimsby Town F,C. is and always will be the only team I have loved all my life, that will never change.

On the plus side Slade now as bags of league experience, loads of contacts, some decent players here to start with and plenty of time between now and next season to assemble a squad worthy of challenging for a top ten place at least.

So if it is Russ mk2 he and the team WILL still get my support as would any other manager brought in. .This does not mean I won't moan from time to time though lol.

Whoever it is good luck (and you do need luck) for next season.

I agree this might not be as bad as people are fearing.

Was wondering what are peoples thoughts about the players MS has brought into this club and wether who is considered to be good signings? And bad.

Although MB has left the building surely we can take some positives with the players that he's brought in and will help our cause next season? Can we...

Open question really, appreciate the thoughts on this.

I'm a season ticket holder but don't know if I'll miss my first match by choice. Might stay at home and watch recording of "Sound of Music" I like a nice cup of tea but Slade definitely isn't it. He ought to take his trumpet somewhere else-he's even more opinionated than Bignot. Russell Slade for Russell Slade------No thank you

That's what concerns me. Their track record isn't exactly littered with success in picking managers. Only GTFC could turn a promotion season into a fiasco with 3 managers inside a year.

How much input have the board, and particularly the Trust, had in all of this?

To me it looks very much like a "what John wants, John gets" appointment.

We clearly haven't had time to sift through CV's, and then interview a shortlist.

Surely the Trust realise what a divisive appointment this will be.

It's a shockingly (yet again!) bad appointment by JF.
