Also, thanks John for the Aussie reference - barking up a gum tree - priceless

Good for him. Too many overbearing regular posters on here who think their opinion is the only one worth reading. Intolerant and wrong.

Irony at it's finest.

If this reflects your sense of humour sir I salute you. !!

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Thread title inspires JF response to Matt Dean, who'd have thought?

Barking up a gum tree or the wrong tree? Slade was up a mountain on Tuesday and at the BP on Wednesday, must've been a good signal on his mountain or was it Caistor top?

This morning's press conference was a load of shifty old bollox if you ask me.

When Matt Dean asked Slade when he first knew about the interest from Town, he had to think for a minute and then hurriedly said the day after Marcus was dismissed, which was yesterday and he was up a mountain. Now call me cynical, but going from a first approach yesterday, to a done and dusted appointment having had a board meeting at some stage too and a press conference this morning at 10.00am come on I am not buying that. Must have been done well before Marcus left. Not that it matters but why can't people be straight? Fan's are not all stupid, sometimes we know when things don't stack up. This sort of thing just puts doubt into everything which comes out of the club. Anyway we are where we are and I will be there on Friday and will renew my season ticket, that's what true fans do...no bullshit.

Probably so Bignot can't do the club for wrongful dismissal or something?

Not a cat in hells chance that Slade wasn't lined up well before Bignot was sacked.  It's not just Slade is it either, it's Wilkinson too.  From Bignot and his mob getting the shove to Town announcing the press conference was give or take 24 hours.  If they have actually managed to open and close talks with both Slade and Wilkinson in that time it's some bloody good work. It also makes the usual delay in sorting a quick statement about season ticket prices look even worse!
