I see Shaun Harvey is proclaiming the FL Trophy a success.

Sadly it sounded like Mr Fenty on behalf of GTFC will support the continuation of Under 21/23 teams despite strong opposition from the fans and the Trust.

His stated reasons is that he has a fiduciary duty to back anything that potentially brings more income to the club.Seems he & the rest of the board are hiding behind this when in reality, I think it may well end up costing the club money.

As a sponsor of the club together with season tickets etc I think my spend to GTFC this season is around £5k. A small amount in the great scheme of things I accept, but i feel so strongly about the club ignoring the majority of the fan base wishes that i will withdraw my support next season if they vote to continue with this ridiculous format.

Not saying anyone will follow my lead, I wouldnt expect them to, but this is simply wrong. In the past GYFR has said he is merely the custodian of the club for the fans. Hopefully he will consider that fact very carefully when the Shaun Harvey is looking for support for the continuation of the Checkmate Trophy.

He could start giving handjobs for a fiver a go around the back of the pontoon.  It would raise money for the club and be less reprehensible

I will be joining you and so will several others around me. Mr Fenty has made his opinion on the matter very clear in that he supports the format of the competition and I'm sure many of the fans will make their opinion on the competition very clear when season tickets are released.

Every word that comes out from the lizard like mouth of Harvey makes me dislike him even more.

What an utterly absurd success to try and claim.  The whole concept is an absolute failure and should be killed before it does any further damage, Harvey should also be removed from his post on grounds of gross incompetence.

Harvey is a dangerous man. He will keep coming back in defiance of the facts and fan resistance.

He and any cronies he has need dumping out of their jobs.

It was obvious in the summer by the way the club went about voting for this without full consultation with all representatives.....and by the finger pointing and slow responses to questions at the time....
It was made even more obvious at the recent fans forum, by more than one member of the board, and to some extent by MB what the clubs position is on this.....

the club are in balls deep on this, they dont seem too fussed that Harvey mugged them off, or that the major Prem teams werent interested in it, or that a good proportion of the U23 teams were made up of over 23 foreign nationals.....its just about MONEY....

JF stated at the forum that the club didnt lose money on the checkatrade this year, now as we didnt win a game, we had nigh on zero fans at the game i find that hard to believe...but...lets say we didnt lose money, the low gate receipts and lack of any win money somehow covered the costs of opening up the ground, leccy bill, gas bill, staff wages, player match incentives etc....surely the club can see that they have peeeed the fans off big time, that if they did manage to avoid a loss they should see that further revenue was lost because of how it was all handled  and by sticking defiantly to their stance and therefore seemingly supporting Harvey in all his ridiculous claims.. they are just peeeeeing off the same and even more supporters?

Why cant we be the club that raises a vote of no confidence in Harvey ? Why cant we be the club shouting loudest that we were deceived in Portugal by his clearly false proposals?  instead of just towing the EFL line with cupped hands.

The club and the EFL have shown they dont give a shite about the supporters of the game on this one.

Quote of the day from Harvey, the new King of Spin ;

" We didn't actually fine clubs for playing younger players. We fined them for not playing enough senior ones."

So why not apply the same business model to the league.  I reckon that within 5 years we would be competing with Man U. !!!

I think the real problem regarding all of this is that JF will have as much of a politician head on as a 'non chairman' head.  Given that Shaun Harvey obviously wields a lot of power with the EFL, it then falls into place that our glorious leader will quite happily dance to any tune Harvey plays. Politics and sport should never mix, but unfortunately often do !!

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Why oh why couldn't Accrington and Cheltenham get to a poorly supported final instead of Coventry and Oxford's estimated 70k attendance. 70k is sadly a far better figure than 12k for the EFL to massage headline statistics..

...................................it's depressingly dull and bleak round the back of the Pontoon.
